Re: Left Handed holsters

I am a fellow south paw and got so frustrated with the lack of lefty holsters at retail stores. If they do have any they are crap. Online is the best route to go for anything decent. I ordered one from http://www.hiddenhybridholsters.com for my S&W Shield and love it. Very comfortable and has tw...

Re: Thinking of new handgun for home defense

Thanks everyone. Love all of the comments. Looks like this is a pretty Glock-friendly crowd, given the recommendations. That's okay as I have been a happy Glock owner for 10 years. However, I tend to look at things like features and hand feel rather then brand first. Prior to buying my Shield a coup...

Re: Thinking of new handgun for home defense

Thx for the reply. The G19 is not a carry gun for me. I use a Smith and Wesson M&P .40 Shield with a Hidden Hybrid Holster I can wear IWB or OWB depending on what I am wearing if I use it as a CCW. I carry the 19 in a Blackhawk while at the range to give me an extra hand. I do own a 16ga Ithaca ...

Re: Hola from Savage!

Thanks everyone. Nice to see some other local people here as well. I do most of my shooting on my parent's acreage in NW Iowa but like to shot some handguns at Gander in Lakeville. Are there any ranges in the area where folks like to get together and shot from time to time? I still consider myself a...

Gander Mountain Academy

I live close to Gander in Lakevile and was looking for thoughts on the various classes they offer. I have used the live-fire range before and like it. Hoe is the quality and content of the various classes they offer? Worth the money?
Thx...Brian

Re: Thinking of new handgun for home defense

More great food for thought. Jshuberg...thx for your long and insightful post. All others as well. Just want a good reliable HD firearm ( may already have it in my G19) and need suggestions for the best sights and applications to assist in this. I have never really considered the addition of a tach ...

Re: Thinking of new handgun for home defense

Thx for the replies so far. I was really on the fence about using a laser on my HD firearm as well. I am adamant that myself and my wife learn to shoot a new weapon using the factory or iron sights prior to adding any upgraded sights, lasers or optics. Those can fail (dead batteries, etc.) and being...

Hola from Savage!

Hi All, My name is Brian and I live with my wife and two kiddos in Savage. I have been hunting field birds since I was 12, primarily while growing up in rural NW Iowa. I enjoy trap shooting and target shooting. Currently have a fairly well rounded inventory of firearms but do not consider myself a c...

Thinking of new handgun for home defense

Hi All, I currently use a 3rd Gen Glock 19 equipped with a Crimson Trace laser sight as my primary home defense firearm. Looking to expand my inventory and to get a smaller CCW firearm, I picked up a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in .40cal. I like this little gun so much that I recently bought a S...

Re: good holster

http://www.hiddenhybridholsters.com

It is a very comfortable holster and can be used as IWB or OWB so it's like getting two holsters in one. Custom made by hand with great craftsmanship! Search YouTube for more info.
