Mossberg ATR 100

So after a couple weeks of deliberation and handling dozens of rifles at local gun stores, I finally decided on the Mossberg ATR in 30-06. It has a very similar set-up to the Remington 700 and felt really well balanced and well put-together. My cost out the door after tax will be $310 for the scope,...

Re: SKS, now what?

I'm a big fan of leaving military rifles as is and enjoying them for what they are. The SKS is a great little carbine and won't let you down. Having said that, one of the SKS rifles I purchased over the years came with a scope mount and cheap scope. It wasn't really accurate and didn't hold a steady...

Re: Marlin XS7 or Mossberg Maverick?

I've handled several Savage Axis, and although I haven't shot one yet, there's just something about it that doesn't feel quite right. I'm sure its a great and reliable rifle, there is just something about it I don't like...kinda like Chevy. I'm going with whatever Fleet Farm has because they have a ...

Re: Rem BDL in 7 rem mag-help me reduce the recoil a little.

The easiest ways to reduce recoil are as follows: Make the rifle heavier (target rifles way a couple pounds more for a reason) Make the bullet lighter (even 10-20 grains lighter can be felt in the shoulder) Add a softer butt pad Add an aggressive muzzle brake If you go the heavier rifle route, you c...

Marlin XS7 or Mossberg Maverick?

Ok, so as I was browsing my local L&M today, they have a Marlin XS7 for roughly $330 for the .30-06 model, or the Mossberg Maverick for roughly $260. My question is has anyone had any hands on gun time with the Mossberg and any comments? I am leaning towards the Marlin because it had a great fit...

Re: 1995 Toyota 4Runner - Grand Rapids area PRICE DROP

Bump with a price drop. I am interested in trades or partial trades for any of the following: FWD/AWD Sedans, 4x4 trucks and SUVs, and/or rifles.

Re: Buy or Build????

Buy a complete lower, build the rest. The lower has a bunch of springs and pins that, although not impossible to assemble, are a pain. There's tons of info on the pros and cons of different parts to put on your rifle. It all depends on your ultimate goal for the rifle in the end.

1995 Toyota 4Runner - Grand Rapids $1900 OBO

I just moved up to MN and drove up here in my 4Runner. Now that I'm here I either need a vehicle that gets better gas mileage or I need a 4x4 pickup truck. This SUV was a California vehicle its whole life. I bought it about 6 months ago before I knew I was moving up here so I put a ton of money into...

Hello All

Just moved up to northern Minnesota from California...SO GLAD TO BE FREE!
I'm living up near Grand Rapids and was wondering if anyone up in this area knew of any open spaces that are A-Ok for shooting. I know of a range or two around here but I like being on my own or in a small group when I shoot.
