Re: Burnsville Practical Pistol League brass thief

Because as long as my safety and the safety of my students is not compromised, I don't police other peoples' ranges. These fellows generally stayed out of my way. On a crowded range, if I reported every violation of policy to the range staff, I'd be spending all my time talking to the range staff a...

Re: Burnsville Practical Pistol League brass thief

There was a young guy at Bills Hudson last Sunday that was sweeping up the entire floor to his stall every 10 minutes as people were shooting. Never asked anyone. Where do these turds come from? There was a couple guys at Bill's Robbinsdale doing the same last night; kind of obnoxious. If this viol...

Re: Background Checks for Private Party Sales: How?

Why couldn't they just allow NICS to be used by private sellers directly? I wouldn't mind being able to call in a buyer I don't personally know. The major issue, as I see it, is that that kind of access would allow possible access of private data to anyone who calls. I'm not sure what would stop so...

Re: Considering picking up a firearm for the little lady

Erud, I don't disagree with much of what you said, but I think there are some considerations that you aren't seeing. One, driving is a necessity for most of us, so when I turned 16, I drove the POS my parents had for me because the alternative was taking the city bus and bumming rides everywhere. Sh...

WTT/WTS - St Paul - Schott Zwiesel set of 6 cocktail glasses

I got an extra set of six Schott Zweisel 5.1oz cocktail glasses that I really don't need. They are unused, and the box was only opened to ensure they were intact. I'm in St Paul. I ultimately would like to trade them for a Sig Sauer 8-round P220 magazine, used (in good shape) or new, but would also ...

Considering picking up a firearm for the little lady

I have seen a number of new shooters, and particularly new women shooters, end up being turned off to shooting by well meaning friends or family members. If you really want to give her the best chance to enjoy a gun, and ultimately shooting, help her make the best decision she can. Share your opinio...

Off Duty officer shoots suspect who tried to grab his gun

So on duty if there's a threat of deadly force/GBH they can. But off duty? It is in the line of duty, not on duty. MN law, and most departments' policies allow officers to act in the capacity of on duty officers even if thy are off duty, depending on the situation. Also, whether a law enforcement p...

Shooting in the snow, low light, slippery footing, movement,

Often, when I am done running a PTC qualification outdoors in the cold, I take my gloves off. As soon as I lose my dexterity and fine motor control, I shoot 50-100 rounds and work on basic manipulation skills. It sucks on really cold days, but it gives a new perspective on what works, and what doesn...

Can anyone recommend a good pepper spray?

+1 for Freeze +P

I have used it several times and it worked well on all but one person.

Streicher's (Plymouth) or Uniforms Unlimited (Minneapolis & St Paul) will surely have it in store in multiple sizes, otherwise any other police supply shop will likely have it.

latest night sight reviews?

I'm a fan of the Heinie Straight 8 Slant Pros. But, I've also never had reason to complain about Trijicons.

Carry holsters

I have always had better luck finding what I was looking for by ordering online. Most retailers simply don't have the shelf space to stock a large selection for a lot of guns. Every holster I've bought from a store seems like it was a compromise, and never quite what I went in looking for.
