Re: POLL: how much training have you had?

I likewise had Darrell as a PTC instructor back in... 2001? Something like that. Before that, it was an in-house guy for the private security company I worked for in the 80's.

Re: Hello from North Metro/Pine County

Welcome! Hard to go wrong with a good 1911. The Ruger is well thought of for a production piece.

Re: How do I tell what sights my colt commander has on it ?

Keep in mind that you can find night sights that are made to stake the front sight. Just need to search for that option. I know Brownells and Midway carry them.

I prefer the XD-s over the Shield because the rear of the slide overhangs the backstrap less, making it easier to extract from the...

Re: Accidentally joined the club...

I attended a Pat Rogers carbine course last week. At one point, a shooter came to the line without his long gun. Hilarity ensued.

Re: Carry gun suggestions or tips?

My wife has small hands with short fingers. The only pistol she can hold properly and still get her finger correctly positioned on the trigger is a Bersa Thunder. She could also probably make it work on my son's Walther PP if he didn't have rather fat stocks on it. I have had her try regular M&P...
