Re: 3-gun training idea

I think this is a great idea, at least for those of us needing some affirmation that we are doing things correctly. For those of you that have been doing this for a while i know i would appreciate the hands on walk through of some of the drills you do.

Re: Water Bottles

I buy 32 oz. Gatorade bottles at the gas station. I drink one right away to use as a pee bottle and keep a full one in the pack for sippin'. Only issue I ran into this year was 33 oz. of pee and only 32 oz. of empty bottle. Got a little dicey. As a side story, the deer I shot 2nd weekend this year ...

Re: My tumbler saga...

Very creative use of materials. It looks like the drum doesn't contact/ use the wheels for much support. I think this video was done right away. I must have adjusted them a little. They now make good contact. After using this at least 20 times or so, the only regret I have with it is that I might w...

Re: Australian police confiscate 328 guns

"Our fear is that these firearms are high-caliber firearms that if they got into the wrong hands they could certainly be used in a nasty way." Kinda gives you a picture of the mentality that demonizing guns breeds.. I'm sure those hunting rifles were the weapon of choice for most violent ...

Re: What'd you take deer hunting this year?

Sat in a tree with my Ruger M77 .280. Snowed Friday night before the opener and there were a few tracks in the snow in the am. My sister saw a doe that morning but didnt have a shot. The rest of us saw and heard nothing. One fresh track on Sunday, then between Sunday and the following Saturday there...

Re: 6x45 AR

He was looking for something better than 223 for deer using an AR-15 lower. My first thought was the 300 Blackout, but then when I saw how many options there really were I started looking at them too. Seems the 6.5 grendel and 6.8 spc both would give you better options at greater distances than mayb...

Re: 6x45 AR

yeah, not my list.. my point was to illustrate the rather long list of options. I haven't heard of half of the calibers listed. I'd think you would have to have a pretty specific use in mind, or just really like to tinker and reload to make alot of those work.

Re: Ruger .44 Magnum Carbine

We've had one in the family for three generations now.. My dad huntied with it, I started hunting with it, and this year was my son's first year hunting with it. Wonderful gun for a smaller person. perfect for hunting in tight places where your not going to have longer shots anyway. It does a great ...

Re: The current climate of the shooting sports in MN

This is my first year shooting anything competitive (3 gun) and up until this year I'd never really even given it much of a thought. That being said I think one of the the challenges is to get new potential competitors to even see the listing of events. While I think there are folks looking to get i...

Re: The current climate of the shooting sports in MN

If there was a central place to post events and find upcoming events I think this would potentially be a pretty good first step to getting new competitors to come out. No ones going to come to an event for the first time unless they are either directly invited or stumble onto something interesting t...
