Re: Shhhh! Don't tell anyone.

I have several 1911's and one lonely Glock. Guess what gets carried?

I did carry a 1911 in the military and have tried as a civilian. I always end up with the Glock.

Re: Precautions for selling firearms FTF

My transactions have always gone well. I won't deal with someone that has 1 or 2 posts just to sell a firearm. People that have been on the board for a period of time and post in other sections beside the classifieds should be safe. All the other precautions apply, public place, others know where yo...

Re: 2012 MN Regs are online

Our hunting land was intensive last year and we didn't see many deer during the season although we did get deer. This year the deer seem more plentiful after the mild winter. According to the 2012 Regs, this year we changed to a managed area. We never take more than 2 deer each, often just 1,...

Re: got into a discussion at work

Last night on FOX even Bill O'Reilly went on a rant about being able to buy "Machine Guns". I shouted at the TV but he didn't listen. He was convinced that anyone could buy a machine gun and nobody was going to change his mind.

He wanted a bunch of new laws as usual...

Re: 14 dead, 50 wounded at Colorado Theater during Dark Knight

I can't help thinking "What a coincidence" that this happens just as the UN small arms treaty is being discussed. Call me a tinfoil hat but it is really strange... And the President comes out with a statement about how the Justice Dept. will get to the bottom of this even before the Colora...

Re: Gun in the washing machine

I guess my next response should be an ad in the for sale section saying "Really clean Glock for sale".

Re: Gun in the washing machine

I'm kinda surprised no one ripped him for being unsafe.... We all know, you know what you did wrong. More so we know your wife will remind you of this for a LONG time to come. You will pay the price in the end. As a matter of fact, I heard about it a couple of times already today. There have...

Re: Gun in the washing machine

I've got a couple of nice old blued S&W's with the old style diamond walnut grips. If it had been one of them I would be a lot more concerned than with the polymer Glock that can shed water like a duck.

Gun in the washing machine

On the top shelf of my gun safe I keep a few handguns. I keep them inside cotton socks to avoid nicks and scratches. It's worked well for years. The safe is in a walk in closet and my wife keeps a laundry basket in front of the safe. You can see it coming can't you? Last night I wanted to take out a...

Re: .25 auto JHP or FMJ?

It's very hard to get a .25 to expand and if it does expand it will lack penetration. If you carry a .25 or .32, FMJ is better because you will get some penetration as well as more reliable feeding. One bullet maker, Winchester I think, made a .25 bullet with a round BB in the front to help expansio...

Re: Glock 30??

The G30 is the only Glock I own. What I like is, it's small enough to conceal easily while having a respectable capacity in a major caliber. The G36 is thinner but you give away capacity. To me, capacity is the main reason to carry a polymer auto. Even though it feels thick in my hand, I was able to...

Re: Colt Python.....Who has 1...

I've got one I bought new in 1982. Still just like new. It's a fairly rare 6 inch electroless nickle model complete with the box and all the paperwork. It only has about 500 rounds through it, mostly mild handloads. I took it deer hunting once and bagged a nice doe. It sits in the safe these days. I...
