Re: Bulk Pistol Bullets

For .380 berry's has been accurate enough - but I have a LCP, so standards for accuracy are low. Even prices at cabela's was decent when I got my last lot ($19.99 for 250, or $0.08 CPR) for 100gr bullets.

Re: How do you disassemble a Mark III?

well, What I find most useful for for the mainspring latch is to use a paperclip. Stick the half circle of a paperclip under that mainspring and pull. After about 50 or so times; it will come undone with your fingernail. For getting the barrel off; some good wacks with a rubber hammer. Don't worry -...

And give the police another invitation to perform a search?

Think of it - if there is a barrier between the you and the officer; the officer knows you cant go at him with a knife.... At least; thats one thought process.

Good case trimming tool?

So what is a good process for trimming cases accurately that does not cost an arm and a leg? I am up north this week going through a bunch of LC cartages; and I know when I get home they are all going to be long. In the past I have used the lee zip trim + the lee trimming tool. I have noticed in the...

Re: Does address on PTC need to match DL for handgun purchase?

As others have stated; if you have moved within the last 30 days; you are "valid" with your PTC. You also have 30 days to get the new address on your drivers license :-) A side node that has been brought up before - the address on a PTP does NOT need to match the address on your drivers li...

Re: Ruger Rimfire Challenge July 4th

Wow; thanks for the heads up. I might be in that area on the 4th. I wonder if my AR with the .22 CMMG conversion would count as being chambered in .22 LR

Re: New Gun Safe and initial review

What I like - "Waterproof for 72 hours in up to 2 ft. of water (must be bolted to floor to insure rating)" I am not sure I can figure that one out. Either the bolts fit through some gaskets; or they are concerned about the 500lb safe floating away. I would have never thought about water pr...

Re: MKIII Broken Part...

I'll take your word that it's broken because I have absolutely no idea what an undamaged RSA for a Mk. III looks like. Here is what a not-so-broke one looks like. http://shopruger.com/images/61051_KA-57_L.jpg I would be interested in your results with Ruger - as they are on my...

Re: Guns vs. cash

I like the idea of gold. I remember doing an investment/stock exercise in 1994 when I was in high school. When I did that little exercise 19 years ago; I remember gold being $397/oz. Back then; for me a high school student; I remember how cool it would be to have an ounce of gold; and what kind of i...

Re: Fingerprint safe

I worked in biometric security and am in fact going back into it. Fingerprint readers can easily be fooled. I can take some gel, lift your print off a glass you drank from, then use that to fool the fingerprint reader. If his children are using gel to lift prints off of drinking glasses; I think he...

Re: Trimming before resizing?

The One Shot does not gunk anything up or get sticky. After it dries, for all intents and purposes it is gone. I've been using it exclusively for 12 years and have never seen either of those 2 issues. Since 2007, I have shot about 4k rounds per year in competition with an AR-based rifle and it has ...

Re: Trimming before resizing?

Here's how I do it for match brass. If it's already been fired in my chamber: 1. Deprime dirty brass with universal de-capper die. 2. Wet tumble with stainless media 3. Trim, chamfer, de-burr 4. Anneal 5. Lube with Hornady One Shot 6. Size and load 7. Shoot Good luck, Erik First of all, never looke...

Re: Holy Bullet Setback, Batman!

This is a pic of the .45 ammo that has been sitting in the new 1911 for the last couple of weeks. I've never seen setback this prominent so quickly. My question- is this normal for .45 ammo, or just Magtech 230 FMJ? I would measure that; if you have device laying around. Here are the SAAMI specs: h...

Re: Trimming before resizing?

Ok, thanks. I am just getting started into reloading and I have been trying to read as much, and watch as many videos as I can. One guy was saying that he prefers resizing, trimming, doing all the other case work and then tumbling so that anything that happens during prep work would get nocked off ...
