Re: Question re: ammo authenticity/safety

I just opened up a box of ss109's I have , HS is FC 12. all primers are silver with blue color sealant on them , my 855's have a bronze color primer with purple sealant on the primers No visible sealant on either the m193 or ss109 here, but the primers ARE crimped. So reasonable to assume per Hoot ...

Re: Question re: ammo authenticity/safety

Pull several rounds, carefully weighing powder charges for determining consistency. Or give all of then to me for testing purposes. :D Haha. Thanks for the tip, and your offer ;) Any reference on the load data I should look for as well as consistency? I have no experience reloading, but the concept...

Re: Question re: ammo authenticity/safety

The necks should be annealed and if they were reloaded you should be able to see a ring around the case just above the groove at the base left from the sizing die. Definitely not annealed -- but is all federal/lake city 556? Wonder if Oldman's are. I am not as concerned about them being reloaded, a...

Re: Question re: ammo authenticity/safety

Several years ago (recently), Federal was selling loose packed boxes of 5.56X45 in quantities of 500 per box or 1000 per box. They did the same for 7.62X51. I bought several thousand of each, with 5.56 going for $109/1000 and 7.62 going for $134/1000. Later versions of this sale went to $99/500, $1...

Question re: ammo authenticity/safety

Question for reloaders and those knowledgeable about ammo in general. I came across some loose packed 5.56 M193 and SS109 (not green tipped, but core attracts magnet, and profile consistent with M855). I have come to question whether or not they are handloads, even though they were said to be factor...

ACTION: Encourage the Nevada Governor to Veto Gun Control

Easy. Don't have to talk to anyone. Took me less than 15 seconds. Pass it on... Call 775-684-5670 and press “2” — to vote AGAINST the universal background check bill (SB 221). Again, you don’t have to live in the state. As noted above, you don’t even have to give your name or address — the entire pr...

Re: New AR family printable lowers

Hmmm. Advances in technology -- sooner than later I guess: Today, the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling process is responsible for chiseling out most gun parts for most guns—frame, barrel, firing pin, internal components, all cut down from a hunk of metal by the spinning bit of a CNC machine....

Re: child abuse by politicized, power-drunk thought police

Spot. On. Aside from the 'message' being thoroughly objectionable, the 'punishments' and tactics also deserve severe condemnation. That one story about the 5 year old particularly bugged me. I have two sons. I was a little five-year old boy that played with 'cowboy-style' cap guns -- remember the r...
