Re: M&P Shield

Had one in .40 and sold it a few months ago. Bought a G27 and didn't look back. Grip too thin, low capacity, not much smaller than G26/27, safety would sometimes engage when pulling from holster.

Re: Ruger SR22 problems, should I send it back?

I sent my SR22 back a few months ago due to the magazine disconnector issue(trigger wouldn't engage), and got it back in less than a week, and now I have 500+ rounds through it. I wanted to dump it right when I got it back, but gave it a chance. It's an OK gun. Kids like it, otherwise, I would look ...

Re: New Shield

The recoil from the .40 takes some practice. 180gr factory loads are fun to shoot, but my 180gr HSTs pack a pretty good wallop. Follow up shots take a while when compared to a G23 or sub compact 9mm.

Re: New Shield

Talons are feeling really nice, easy to put on. Took it out a few days ago and put 50 180gr HST and 100 180gr WWB, no issues. The grips really help with the snap when shooting the HSTs, good investment.

Re: New Shield

Compared to the cm9, the Shield feels and looks like a more quality gun. I will have to see how it feels to carry since the grip is about an inch longer.

Re: New Shield

Thanks for the tip, I was just going to look at Talons, and rubber vs granulated. I think I will try to find a 9mm barrel for it also, hear you can just swap them no problem.

Bought it at grabagun on Thursday, must have checked at the right time, paid $427

Just picked this little guy up today. Overall feel and look is top notch. Trigger is nice and crisp, can't wait to try it out.

Re: S&W SD9/40 VE vs. Glock 19/23

Somewhere in the back of a safe, I have one of the first Sigma series guns that came out back in the early 90's, SW40F. Looks almost identical to yours except it has the melonite finished slide.

Re: Anyone looking for a Ruger 10/22 Takedown?

Ouch, hold off a few months. It's just a cheap 10/22. I got mine from kygunco for $309 free shipping in September. Things should settle down.

S&W SD9/40 VE vs. Glock 19/23

Just a quick note, if anyone is considering the S&W SD line as an alternative to a Glock 19 or 23, they are not the same gun. The SD VE series is a great gun for $300 don't get me wrong, but to compare it to the Glock, it's not really in the same class as far as fit and general aesthetics go. I ...

S&W 642

The Smith & Wesson 642 is another nice option for a reliable, easy to conceal self defense carry weapon. Capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Special. I generally find that the 135gr .38 is the bare minimum I want to carry for self defense based upon my "scientific testing", which includes shoo...

Kahr CM9

Last summer, I purchased a Kahr CM9 to use for carry. I wanted a small single-stack 9mm that could be carried comfortably in most situations. The capacity is 6+1 with the included flush magazine. An extended 7 round magazine is also available. After looking around online for holster options, I decid...
