Re: Need some simple gunsmithing

I have one of the generic ebay sight pushers that’s worked pretty well for most slides. It didn’t budge a rear XD sight. I have not attempted to change my PM9 sights since they are known to be difficult. Local gunsmiths I would use would be Flint and Capras.

Re: Blueprint action

Given the cost to fully blueprint the action, may just want to consider a Rem 700 clone action. Also, truing and action may require oversize threads which would require a gunsmith threaded barrel and eliminate the option of going with a pre-fit barrel. My understanding is that a 721 has the same bar...

Re: Cleaning a rusty barrel

Could also plug the barrel and fill it with Kroil and let it soak for awhile. Then brush, polish, and clean. ProShot makes a sprial brush for removing rust. Looks kinda like a brillo pad.

Scheels EP - 9mm, CCI450, lG rifle primers

Scheels in Eden Prarie had a couple of brands 9mm, small magnum rifle primers, and large rifle primers today. Fiochi was $25/box. My first time in the store and really nice store with helpful staff. Pleasantly surprised for a big box store.

Re: Permit renewal question.

As other have said, call and check with the local sheriffs office. I can’t imagine Itasca being as busy as Hennepin or Ramsey. I just renewed in Hennepin and my appointment was about 45 days out. My friend’s appointment in Ramsey isn’t until end of December more than 2 months out from when he called...

Re: Any Stock & Barrel club members?

I’d also check out Modern Sportsman in Burnsville, too. The range looks pretty nice and supposedly one of the latest ventilation designs nationally according to the staff. Take that with a grain of salt, but it doesnlook nice. Have jot shot there. Nor sure what membership costs are. Abdullah Chocola...

Re: I'm back (total nube, I know) Die problem?

I had a similar issue with LC brass from my Garand. Some brass would size, but more than enough would stick to require a stuck case remover. Tried different lubes, more or less lube, and 4 different sizing dies. Never figured it out after getting the case stuck too many times and dealing with crimpe...

Re: Best way to utize bench space? A perfect layout?

Wrench’s idea to make a temp mount makes sense until you figure out where you like everything. I mounted my press too far to the left not leaving enough room for both a powder measure and bullet/loading trays. I weigh and charge in batches any ways, but still wish I had more room. The Hornady quick ...

Re: AR9 suggestions?

I don’t have a bad lever, but I am guessing it still doesn’t work because of the dimensions of the NFA lower for Glock mags for that matter most Glock Ar9 lowers. The bolt catch area is noticeably thicker and has other raised areas on the lower that may interfere. It’s been a awhile since I’ve playe...
