Thanks guys, that helps a lot. I've read the DNR regulations over and over, but some of my buddies (probably don't know what they are talking about) keep saying you can't use .223. And thanks for clearing up the brace question. I couldn't find any regulations on that.

Thanks to everyone for your advice. I found a guy in Rush City, Rack'em Smack'em Taxidermy. He was running a special for $279. So if you need taxidermist service, he is the cheapest I've found. And his work looks good.

I think another factor to why he is considering this rifle is the warranty as well, supposedly they have a "No BS" life time warranty.
