Re: StarTrib endorses Mills, expects he'll wise up on gun contro

I'm sure the editorial staff in Duluth and Minneapolis is impressed with his libertarian ideals. Or, it could simply be that the advertising for Mill's businesses pays them 10's of millions of dollars each year.

Re: 4 'Spree Shooters' passed Universal Background Check...ooops

The real reason a "background check" will not work is simply statistics. You can do a background check on someone's credit and it will tell you how many monthly payment he makes on time and how many he misses. So if you were going to extend a loan, you can simply calculate the risk from se...

Re: British man hacked to death

The group "Muslims" is about a third of the world. You wind up blaming all kinds of folks who don't think that way. It's like blaming all "gun owners" for the acts of a very few the rest of us don't associate with. You cannot tell all Muslims they have to explain this. It's like ...

Re: DC Considers Mandatory $250,000 Gun Insurance for gun buyers

They'll get by with it bedause It's NOT disenfranchising anyone in DC. They lost their guns long age. It's why we need to encourage gun ownership and permits and shooting ranges. It only seems preposterous in areas where most of many have guns. But to millions in big cities it will not be controvers...

Re: mn resident gets pinched for selling firearms w/o license

There are certain folks who just like to trade in guns. You cannot buy retail and sell retail and make any money. But these are often folks who sell to questionable characters kind of as hangers os. It's doubtul they would go to a gun dealer for background checks, and it's unlikely they would stop s...

Re: Hearing Adjourned Until Seven p.m. (Let the Bullying Begin)

How to write to a Democrat. Remember 1994? I do. The Democrats lost control after the failed "assault weapons ban". Then Al Gore lost the 2000 election by the thinnest of margins. Without the anti gun contro vote, Al Gore would have been President. And then, about a million people died und...

Re: Gun Hearings Done. Will we be Screwed by 'OMNIBUS GUN BILL'

They put in at least 16 bad bills, and then they call us extreme gun nuts who oppose EVERYTHING. Good. But we need everyone opposing everything so we don't get divided. NONE of this stuff, including better reporting of mental health matters will improve safety in the least. I would get rid the the b...

Re: So, I guess the Senate will not hear any *Ban* proposals

A "ban" woulod have to be federal anyway. And if you're a gun grabber, a state "ban" of the most popular guns in America would be subject to being found unconstitional. That would be a precedent for tother states. So, they don't really want that for Minnesota. Beware of the "...

Re: Walmart suspends ammo sales/orders

Walmart is apparently about 25% of the gun industry. It's also got a hughe share of everything else. In the old days, that much of a market share was considered anti competitive and ultimately bad for consumers. Now we've got them making gun policy, instead of the gunshops. And all they sell are bes...

Re: When The Dust Settles- What will we have lost/left?

At this point the only voices you hear are from our opponents, who are ready to strike at every strategy. They have bills, materials, ect, all recycled. Suddenly a tragedy, right after a big DFL victory. We didn't want any changes, so they are the ones making all the noise. It just seems like they a...

Re: Media using Freedom Of Information Act to get gun owners inf

Yes. The people who drafted our MPPA specified that Permit Information is classed as Private Data on Individuals. Under the Data Practice Act. everything is public, unless it's not. Permit stuff is classified as NOT.

Re: Re: Could they take our guns??

. After pistols are limited to 6 in the mag, they'll strenghthen the "loophole' of preban stuff. Pay the gun companies to reeplace the old mags, decide that mags more than 10 years old are probably unsafe because of the spring, etc. Later when 6 shots are standard, start to retire semiautos be...

Re: Could they take our guns??

Our government is not yet strong enough to take all our guns. Hell it's not strong enough to make us all pay taxes. But they could erode things litlle by little. And that's what is ahppening. After pistols are limited to 6 in the mag, they'll strenghthen the "loophole' of preban stuff. Pay the ...

Re: Gun alert Email

ll transfers would seen to include borrowed firearms. Do we do a check when someone borrows a deer rifle? How about when he returns it? Guns used by a fanily or co-owned. A trust or corpoation may own guns. Guns inherited or found in an old barn. There should be a way to do it without hirng an FFL. ...
