Re: Mpls Convention Center?

I was there for the home and garden show and there were no detectors. 2 weeks ago and a different event but I'd imagine it's fine to ccw.

Re: CamelBaks- your opinions?

I use mine on any hike over a few hours. They are super convenient which means I actually drink more water than just using a Nalgene or bottles. It's nice for drinking while moving and it frees your hands for looking at a gps, holding a rifle or trekking poles

Re: Feds finalize tighter regulations on gun stabilizing braces

I asked a dnr officer if sbrs could be used in shotgun znes and was told no. Similar to how (I believe) you can't have an sbr in your car with a ptc in MN. Neither of these might not be true but it's what I was told.

Re: NRA Has Lost Over a Million Members Since Corruption Allegat

I have an NRA membership because Gopher Rifle Club requires it. I should have asked if they also accept other 2a groups as meeting their requirement. I'll admit to knowing very little about the NRA but it doesn't appear that effective considering it's resources alone. As a "brand" they see...

Dollar for dollar and considering group vs individual- who is more effective in "pushing their cause"
Nancy Pelosi or the NRA?

Re: Feds finalize tighter regulations on gun stabilizing braces

Does anyone know if a pistol listed in a trust will also require fingerprints from each trust member (I can't remember if my first sbrs did or it was only for cans)? I see the $200 "tax" will be waived under certain restrictions Edit. After looking at form 1 stuff it appears fingerprints a...

Re: Bump Stocks Anyone?

Pistol braces are the bigger deal in my mind and I hope this ruling benefits them.

Re: Repeal the Pittman-Robertson Act?

Steven talks about it a decent bit including a non scripted live talk with Joe Rogan. I haven't researched his editing process for "film". The NRA will often get a pass for the benefits they bring even if the organization is far from perfect. It's easier for me to benefits of the Pittman R...

Re: Repeal the Pittman-Robertson Act?

Steven Rinella (Meateater) has some interesting takes on takes on this and how he feels it strongly benefits conservation. He may not be saying it's the best possible solution but the best realistic solution within current American politics.

Re: ‘Holy sh*t’: Surveillance camera captures insane U of M shoo

Maybe he glued a short rail section to the bottom of his mag. A red dot under the grip might be handy in urban warfare.

Re: NRA Board Member, Wayne LaPierre Ally Resigns After 23 Years

I'm not advocating quitting defending and trying to restore rights. I believe the nra is most likely a sinking ship and probably isn't worth supporting. I'm not saying it's always been a cancerous dinosaur. I might as well buy new paint for the uss Arizona.

Re: NRA Board Member, Wayne LaPierre Ally Resigns After 23 Years

I would say I'm so far on the side of keeping private ownership of firearms in the US, I'm happy to see the nra implode. It doesn't guarantee anything but long term I think it's for the best. Edited to add I currently still have a membership for reasons that don't really involve thinking it will ben...

Re: Minneapolis criminals seem to have machine guns now

There are bursts on the shot spotter that are definitely full auto. The Friendly Libertarian has posted several recordings of them. I've heard a mag dump twice from a distance and my guess is some type of 9mm with a faster rate of fire than any bump stock or binary trigger. Echos etc effect the soun...

Re: Anyone have hands on experience with Liberty Cans

The cosmic is longer than what I like on a 16in barrel for hiking in the woods (especially in deep snow). I bought the pistol piston deal and it's ok but I prefer to just double up on ear pro and shoot unsupressed. I have around 800 rounds through it so far in various calibers. If you want sometime ...
