Re: How did I do on my first rifle purchase? (Model 94)

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to take it out shooting again, though it's not as cheap to shoot as my 9MM. Very nice looking gun for the money, http://www.youtube.com/user/downeastgunworks?feature=watch has a great video on the 94 if you want to get into it. Thanks! This looks like a pret...

Re: DT MPLS Mugging vic Dies from Brain Injuries} 20 yr old Thug

That's sad. That guy ruined his life over a cell phone. I can't wait till they start puttinh kill switches in all new phones making theft pointless. This is indeed sad. What upsets me, other than this innocent man losing his life, is that the man had no idea he was being put in a "give me your...

How did I do on my first rifle purchase? (Model 94)

I've been wanting to find a decently priced Winchester Model 94 30-30 for some time now and finally came across one this morning. Based on the serial number (1780XXX), I've dated it to 1951. I paid $400 for the gun - $500 after Ammo and cleaning supplies. I feel that the gun, considering it's age, i...

We did. Much harder to be accurate as opposed to being in single action. Going to take some practice to work on the double to single shooting.

Journey to owning my first handgun: Part 2

Received a lot of great advice in my previous post and thanks again to everyone for their suggestions. My girlfriend and I ended up going out to the range a couple of times and trying out some of the suggestions. We tried a Glock 19, Beretta M9, Sig P226, Springfield XDm, and a S&W M&P. With...

Re: Journey to owning my first handgun

Welcome, Dylan :welcome: I was in your place, just about 10 years ago. Took my first class from Bill's, just like you. A very steep learning curve to figure out types of pistols, ammunition, safety, how they work, etc. My advice is to shoot as many different pistols as you can. Rent them, and while...

Re: Journey to owning my first handgun

XD is a good gun but a 45 light polymer pistol is not good for first pistol. By the way whats up with all the crap here. Like a dysfunctional family. Who runs this joint? Its like an insane asylum here. Totally out of control from what I have read. Some interesting topics but its like a bar full of...

Re: Journey to owning my first handgun

Buy a Glock 19 or 17 (full size). 9mm is great and Glocks just work. They are super forgiving and you will spend almost zero time cleaning or maintaining them. Try to save room in the budget for a .22 pistol. So much fun and cheap shooting. Both 9mm and .22 are a little hard to find lately but don'...

This.

Then buy a Glock 19.

I'm starting to think you might own some private stock in Glock :)

Great, thanks! I'll take you up on that offer sometime.
