Re: What is the status of Coonan?

I would be shocked if they ever come back. Gotta wonder if someone was in negotiations to buy them and backed out when they found out just how much debt they had. And given their only patent was on the magazine and is expired not a lot of IP value there. I would expect eventually a 3rd party will pi...

Re: Selling Pistols & Rifles

I always (most always - my kids exempted) go to an FFL and I pay the transfer fee, which is great peace of mind for me. No sale otherwise. If they fail NICS, dealer keeps the gun. I am paid in cash before entering FFL place of business where they enter firearm into their Bound Book. Buyer should kn...

Not sure how. If you try to add anything to your cart on their website you get a 404 error page.

Re: Looking for a good 22LR pistol

I still need a revolver. Wish I could buy the Ruger Wrangler here.

Re: Looking for a good 22LR pistol

My Ruger SR22 is fussy about ammo, even after Ruger put a new barrel on it. My Ruger MKiii and 22/45 lite will eat anything all day long no problems. Had a Berreta Neos at one point, complete junk that malfunctioned every 100-150 rounds. I also have a Browning 1911-22 but have not shot it enough to ...

Re: 1911 9mm question

Come party in the cheap-seats... The view is mediocre and the beer is a little flat. I got a Rock Island Armory 1911 in .22TCM/9MM. Here's the thread http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=58606 and here's some gratuitous TCM Fireball pr0n. 22tcm.JPG After looking at RIAs website, it look...

Re: I'm back (total nube, I know) Die problem?

Gotta agree more lube. It's a lot harder to overdue it than you think. I load up a tray of brass and give it a shot from every side using Hornady One Shot at an angle so a little gets down the neck and every piece gets hit. Even then that's sometimes light.

Re: Step 1, clean brass in tumbler (How?)

I just use walnut from the pet store. A little dusty but it works. This rice thing has me interested. I thin NuFinish with oderless mineral spirits and add some of that to each batch. ~2 hours and my brass is shiny. Thinning the NuFinish with mineral spirits was key. Doing that it cut my tumbling ti...

Re: Forster 6mm BR Full Length Resizing Die Pissing Me Off

Their die's expander ball has to be in line with their "vent" hole (for excess lube if over lubed) which places a portion of the expander up into the neck area of the die. This helps support the neck when resizing as well as helps keep the "runout" of the neck low, and tight tol...

Re: Magnum Pistol Powders

I used 4227 in 357mag and was also unimpressed. The other issue with 4227 is load data is inconsistent due to the history of it. There used to be IMR 4227 and Hodgdon H4227 which were similar but not identical. IMR was made in Canada and Hodgdon was made in Australia. The Canada made IMR 4227 was di...

Re: F-Class at Elk River

Please note as of this time, all leagues at ERSC are limited to ERSC members and their immediate family by the ERSC board of directors. NO guests or non-members at this time will be allowed to participate. Pending any further changes by Gov. Walz, this may be how the league runs this summer. The ER...

Re: 380 reloading

Now you are making me want to try this but I think all my brass is loaded right now.

I use Ramshot True Blue and they list the following load:

115 NOSLER JHP
Min - 3.3gr 725fps
Max - 3.8gr 830fps
0.980 COL

That COL is pretty close to the SAMMI max of 0.984.

Re: XDs in .45

I still have an original model 9mm. Only time I have ever had a malfunction was with Inceptor ARX poly ammo. I can't stand the extended mags, they just feel wrong. I used to have the finger tails on the short ones but when I started carrying it in my cargo pants pocket they had to go. I rarely carry...
