Re: CZ P-07 – .40 S&W

Wow. I usually am able to find answers to my questions on my own and I might have, but I mistakenly thought I could ask here as well in my quest for information. FTB means "failure to battery". During my research, I found that the acronym FTB was being used on other forums: http://www.theh...

CZ P-07 – .40 S&W

I purchased one of these a few weeks ago. Have put about 300 rounds through it and it's been well cleaned and lubed. It seems to have an FTB issue. Usually happens right after the first or second shot. Anyone know anything about these guns? Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.

Re: StarTrib endorses Mills, expects he'll wise up on gun contro

I haven't really spent much any time looking at the Star and Sickle's endorsements, but this one certainly seems odd. Considering how late in the process this endorsement is coming, it reeks to me of jumping on the winning bandwagon. This makes them look like they are centrists, and it also gives t...

I was at the Richfield store this past spring and only saw shotguns & bolt action rifles. You can order handguns though.

Cabela's escorts you out too.

I was escorted out of Joe's Sporting Goods.

Re: Sons Of Guns Stephanie & Kris Ford Arrested On Child abuse

I can say with all certainty that the whoopins I got with either a belt, big wooden spoon, or a hair brush, likely kept me from getting into too much trouble. However, it also left me somewhat bitter and resentful as I knew then and now, that it wasn't done to me out of love; rather out of frustrati...

Re: Near school carry in Rochester

All I know is the guy whose picture was displayed is now under a microscope and he needs to tread very carefully. There's rumors that he's claiming he's been now threatened with physical harm since this story broke. I'd hate to read that he was being yelled at in the street by some uppity, angry nei...

Liberals and the constitution.

Uffdaphil, I agree that there's a "chicken and egg" argument where our dealings with radical Islam is concerned. However, think about, really think about it. This enemy is a highly ideological one. They are not a sovereign state with a standing army to whom we can declare war against and o...

Re: Liberals and the constitution.

I gotta be honest here. But some of these, at least on paper, don't seem too bad. The others are just plain retarded. 1 & 2 are appealing to me. I also think case could be made for 6, BUT drastic spending cuts NEED to be made in many other areas (e.g,. close the DEA, ATF, Dept of Education, Dept...

Re: 9 year old girl shoots instructor with uzi

Here's what it comes down to: Would you like the government to forcibly deny everyone the ability to allow their child to shoot one or would you want the parent to choose whether circumstances warranted having their child shoot the gun (experienced child shooter, competent instruction, safe environ...

Re: 9 year old girl shoots instructor with uzi

Related to this story, I got into a fairly heated discussion with my liberal fiance and our liberal neighbors regarding this topic tonight. Their take on this was a mixture of anti-gun rhetoric, "why does anyone need an UZI?" and "guns are bad", on to the, "if there was a la...

Re: 9 year old girl shoots instructor with uzi

Maybe I'm naive, but I can't shake the feeling that this was avoidable. I understand that the place where this happened was some kind of tourist stop? Firearms aren't F'ing toys! I recently took my 15 year old son (who is 6'3" and weighs 230) shooting for his first time out. I waited this long ...

Re: Carry gun suggestions or tips?

There is no such thing as a slide release on a pistol. There is a slide lock. You can manually disengage the slide lock by pressing it down. Or you can simply use an overhand grip to pull the slide rearward and release. The latter being the preferred way except in competition, since it works on all...
