Re: Hornady latest reload manual

I still use IMR4064 for most of my .308 loads. With a 175 grain SMK I can get performance similar to Federal's Gold Medal Match with around 42.5 - 43.0 grains of IMR 4064... Here's what GROK has to say about 8208 XBR: Recommended Starting Powder Charge for Hornady 174 Grain .308 Winchester Bullet wi...

Re: AR trigger

Hi -- I consider the fire control group to be essentially interchangeable between the AR15 platform and the AR10. Obviously, if you have a pile to hammers, triggers, springs and sears you should strive to combine them consistent with how they were originally grouped. Sometimes you can tell by the fi...

Re: Are all ~.30 caliber bullets really this interchangeable?

That's pretty much correct.

.308 diameter works in almost any 30 caliber rifle. I've loaded the same bullet in 300 AAC Blackout, .308 Winchester, 30-06, 7.62 NATO, etc. The exception would be AK47 platform. That barrel requires a .310 diameter bullet.

Re: NRA Members Side with Reformers at Annual Meeting

Thanks for finding this. Good news but far too late. The NRA, with help from the left, already killed itself. It's nice to see the Reformers (who I voted for) making a difference. The NRA is basically broke. The loss in revenues meant reduced staff (and you can tell anytime you reach out to the NRA ...

Re: Who’s left over here?

I'm here until June 6th. Then I will be a Florida resident. Operating with a prosthesis during the Winter months, even with the mild Winters we've had lately, has been more difficult than I would have imagined. Having fallen on snow and ice has hurt with last case involving crawling a long distance...

Re: Was the vote on HF 13 pure party line?

It's late, I'm tired and I'm not finding a breakdown by party; would someone tabulate this for me please? We posted the vote on Facebook and Twitter - it was along party lines with no defections. b Last week's public hearing and debate on the subject was definitely not a waste of energy or effort. ...

Re: Winchester Western Small Pistol Primers (worth?)

Sell them for a little less than they sell for now.

As far as I know, primers have an exceptionally long shelf life if stored away from heat and excessive moisture.

The lower the price, the faster they will sell!

Re: Hicock45 Talks About Leaving The NRA

Simply because the NRA has such name recognition in the halls of Congress, I bought a lifetime membership when they were being discounted just to crank up their membership number by one, and so I could say that I've donated as much money to them as I'm going to. As law abiding gun owners, we liaise...

2024 Candidate Scorecards

I made the comment in the most recent gun club newsletter that the only people who will be talking about "gun violence' this November will be the Democrats. I also said that the GOP is likely going to be silent regarding its position on private ownership of firearms because taking a strong 2A p...

Re: Why vote for Trump?

Received from a friend of mine... When someone asks, "How can you vote for Trump?" I respond, ""I am not voting for Trump.... • I'm voting for the next Supreme Court Justice(s) to protect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. • I’m voting for the continued growth of my retire...
