If only they had the courage to not be afraid of people different from themselves (   )

Re: neighborhood that vowed not to call police being tested

In fact now that I think about it, let's edit that a bit: I find it ironic to have had this experience as I currently study nonviolence, restorative justice and the healing of childhood trauma. I got to put my studies and my practice of mindfulness into play as the incident unfolded. The whole time ...

Re: neighborhood that vowed not to call police being tested

"Children" don't sexually assault people. :x

Where are the militant feminists who say that you should punish rapists by up to and including castration?

Isn't the whole point of all the recent hullaballoo that people should NOT passively accept victimization?

Re: SCOTUS denied every pending Second Amendment cert petition.

Dayum. :badmood:

Imagine if over 150 years after the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment, just somehow- by some justification or rationalization- black people were still being forced to work or be bullwhipped.

Re: Trump pulls ATF nominee after gun answers

It doesn't actually say which way he leans; what is the position of "the Fraternal Order of Police"?

Re: The Rise of the 3D-Printed Gun

It's inevitable; 3D printers will be improved until they can make metal parts of quality high enough to serve as the chamber and barrel of a gun. At that point producing guns becomes as unstoppable as bathtub gin during Prohibition. There'll be futile attempts to prevent this on a par with mandating...

Re: Low velocity AR pistol build for HD?

That's gotta be crazy, crazy loud for HD no? You could load a 9mm carbine / SBR and get that same muzzle energy with less powder, noise, etc. I'm getting 1320fps with a 124gn JHP 9mm in my little CZ Scorpion...480 ft-lbs It's not unbearably loud. just a little louder than a normal AR according to m...

Re: Woman with concealed-carry license shoots home invader

And thus ends another episode in the saga of life for someone who was turning his life around, with great plans of becoming an NFL place kicker. No no, it was just a child* (*age 215 months), possibly transgender, homeless after escaping an abusive domestic situation, who was looking for someplace ...

Re: Federal judge blocks CA's ammunition background check law

I'm surprised at the language Judge Benitez used. Usually legal decisions are written in fairly dry neutral language, but the linked text heaps scorn on the ammunition law and those who promoted it.

Re: Mass shooting in Canada

........and they don't have a 2nd Amendment......so does that suggest that human beings feel an innate desire for self preservation and self defense in spite of the Elites determining that they don't need the means to do so or should have someone define what that looks like? There's a series of hum...

Re: DOJ Dismisses Indictment While SCOTUS Petition Was Pending

Dammit, I'm old, sick and have nothing to lose- prison would be a retirement plan for me at this point. I'd volunteer to be the test case if I only knew for certain it would go to the SCOTUS.
