Re: Liberal Woman Shows Why Crime Runs Rampant In Left-Leaning C

For some people the threat of incarceration is too abstract to be a useful deterrent. It makes me seriously consider whether whipping should have been retained as a criminal penalty.

Re: Second Saturday Breakfast - 13 September

I've reached the stage in my life where I can't promise to be up for anything; but these get-togethers are high on my priority list, so I'll be there unless I absolutely can't.

Re: Pass an assault weapons ban in Minnesota - we dare you!

Aren't injunctions staying enforcement while appeals are underway a common thing?

Given the apparent unconstitutionality of these proposed laws, I'm wondering how seriously MN Democrats expect success as opposed to merely making political hay while the sun shines the latest tragedy is still fresh.

Re: Pass an assault weapons ban in Minnesota - we dare you!

Standing in court cases is fine, but I'm not comfortable with there being enough support in the first place for passing gun bans like this.

Re: Twin Cities mayors call for state law change to let cities a

Without state preemption, a carry permit is virtually worthless: "you can carry, except everywhere you can't". A flat overturn of Shall Issue would be more honest; or are the antis so clueless that they genuinely think that this would be a reasonable "compromise"?

Re: Pistol grip options

Ship date now slipped to 11/03/2025. I wonder if it's going to be nine weeks away forever.

ETA: checked four days later, ship date pushed back four days. This doesn't look good...

Re: Capitol security focus moves to guns

Hennepin County Courthouse in downtown Minneapolis is a high-security area with barriers, checkpoints, screening and metal detectors; in other words a real "gun-free zone". I could see that for the actual capitol building itself; just not the restrictions on carry in the entire courthouse ...

Misinterpreted this headline

From the NRA-ILA newsletter: El Paso County to Host Gun Turn-in Before State Ban https://www.nraila.org/articles/20250813/el-paso-county-to-host-gun-turn-in-before-state-ban Being the pessimist that I am I'd presumed that Texas had banned some gun or accessory and was giving people a chance to turn ...

Re: Ramsey County judge strikes down ban on binary triggers for

So far so good but what if anything does it bode for the future? Will the law get passed in renewed form later? Maybe tucked into an omnibus "safety" bill?

Re: Pistol grip options

Reading this thread reminded me to check again. They now claim it will ship by 10/08/2025; five days earlier than before. On what basis they're confident that it will ship in 7½ weeks instead of 8 I couldn't tell you. But here's hoping.

Re: Making the World Freer with Homemade Guns

The controllers of course want 3D printers to have policeware built into them to prevent "clandestine" uses of the printers. Which will last about two hours in the hands of the legions of software crackers around the world. If I'm not mistaken this was the original goal of Cody Wilson, fou...

Re: Pistol grip options

I followed the "check order status" link I was given and am informed:

Expected to be shipped on 10/13/2025

I pray that means "we will ship it by then", not "we have no idea how to obtain one but we're hoping something will turn up in the next nine weeks".

Re: Pistol grip options

Update: could it really be that I've finally found a place online that has slim grips for a Beretta 90-TWO for sale? Optics Planet dot com. I've placed the order; but I still half expect to be told that they've "backordered" the part and will notify me "when it comes in". I.E., n...
