Re: DOJ Sues DC for the Unconstitutional Ban of Semi-automatics

What I'd really like to see isn't just DC's ban on semi-automatic rifles struck down but the very mechanism of simultaneously requiring permits and refusing to issue them. That would strike at the heart of the Hughes Amendment.

December lunch reminder

As usual, first Wednesday lunch at 98 Lbs Buffet in Bloomington, W. 98th St just east of I-35W. Official opening time 11:30 A.M., sometimes a bit early if they're ready (and in colder weather they usually let people wait in the lobby).

Re: All firearms out in public should have visible trigger locks

How exactly do you stop to undo a trigger lock on the street when you're suddenly accosted by a criminal?

And the moral of the story is, people breaking the law sometimes decide to break the law more. Be prepared.

Re: Leftist college Dems who 3D print firearm accessories out of

Glad to see that there are still small-l liberals in the sense of being in favor of fewer restrictions on freedom. It may have largely passed away from public awareness now, but once upon a time from roughly 1965 to 1975 the radical left had a brief love affair with guns. This was the era of the Bla...

Re: Senior citizen who saved himself from would-be mugger is hea

My guess? He plead guilty rather than risk a trial for trumped up charges of manslaughter because the prosecutors wanted to make an example of him.

Report board problems?

If the board can't be loaded due to timeouts, there's obviously no way to leave a message on the board about it. Is there any other contact for reporting outages or other performance problems?

Re: Pistol grip options

Optics planet is a pretty big euro gun import place. I’ve brought a few high end items from them. Not sure about how well they update their website for inventory, but they are a legit operation. They generally are pretty good. I have ordered some tough to find items from them and they have always c...

Re: Federal Judge Strikes Down Post Office Gun Ban

A precedent, but of course there are plenty of anti-gun precedents at the district court level too; we'll see. Governments above all else want power and authority, and the powers-that-be will NOT like being told they can't ban carry from federal property. Firearms rights are too libertarian for most...

Are all ~.30 caliber bullets really this interchangeable?

A post copied from Quora.com: There is no such thing as a ".30-06 bullet". Assuming the bullet is intact enough to measure, the most you could say is it would be a .308" diameter bullet. The same bullet could be loaded in any "30 caliber" cartridge: a 30-06, 308 Winchester, ...

Re: Tim Walz Floats ‘Assault Rifle’ Ban via State Constitutional

Well to be fair I take this to suppose that Walz really believes that there's an enormous groundswell of popular support for gun control, stymied only by a political process that Republicans hold a disproportionate deadlock on. So great a supermajority that a public plebiscite would overwhelmingly a...
