Re: Drones and the future of war

To expand on what I was getting at, the antis for years now have been claiming that the Second Amendment is as obsolete as rank and file infantry formations; that armed citizens wouldn't stand a chance against a modern professional army. Now I'm wondering if technology is making that pronouncement c...

Drones and the future of war

Advances in technology have changed the environment that people fighting on the ground with small arms would have to face. The first was around the beginning of the 20th century when artillery ranges increased to over the horizon indirect fire. This in World War One and more advanced aircraft in Wor...

Re: Second Saturday breakfast - 12 July

I used to say c-ya there; now I can't guarantee that I might not have had a bad night before. But we'll see.

Re: NFA Tax Repeal Advances in “One Big Beautiful Bill”

Just got an email from GOA. They're going to try suing claiming that without an actual tax amount, the registration requirements for NFA items is outside the federal government's purview. Interesting angle.

Re: Argentina Expands Gun Rights, Lifting Restrictions on Semi-A

Of course what decrees give later decrees can take away. One would hope that this is in answer to a grassroots groundswell of Argentinians demanding the natural right of self-defense. One would hope even more that the traditional Latin American reliance on standing armies that become a political for...

Re: We Answer Your Questions About Gutting The NFA

Forgot about the DNR rules. While we really don't want hunting from vehicles, is there any way those laws could be made less restrictive?

Re: Wal says Minnesota should reconsider allowing guns at State

If they won't have actual metal detectors and x-raying baggage like they do at the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis, it will be security theater.

Re: We Answer Your Questions About Gutting The NFA

Some time back I posted about considering going NFA to replace the arm brace on my Springfield Saint Victor with a stock. If this goes through I'll do it.

Re: Rep. Melissa Hortman killed, Sen. John Hoffman shot in 'targ

At least by what's been released so far (and who knows how accurately that's reported), his main beef seems to have been abortion.

Re: NFA Tax Repeal Advances in “One Big Beautiful Bill”

But just to be clear, they're still NFA registered items, it's just that the tax on them is now zero?

Re: Rep. Melissa Hortman killed, Sen. John Hoffman shot in 'targ

WTF was Boelter thinking? No, "propaganda of the deed" isn't going to inspire the people to rise up. No, eliminating particular officials isn't going to change politics or public policy.

Slaughter in Austrian school

I do wish the antis would concede that mass killings are not a uniquely American phenomenon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graz_school_shooting The perpetrator legally owned both firearms used in the shooting through a firearms ownership card (Waffenbesitzkarte) but did not have a firearms carrying ...

Re: The Supreme Court Unanimously Tells Mexico to Get Lost

Note that the above was posted on Slate.com as a an anti-gun diatribe. What it seems to come down to is that gun control proponents who want to be able to sue gun manufacturers are attempting to claim that the very existence of a commercial gun industry meets the technical legal definition of a Publ...
