Re: .22 LR

Is that Federal Automatch good stuff? In my recent experience it is decent. Accuracy is good but it seems to be a hair bigger than most 22. My guns occasionally have trouble extracting the brass, even my 10/22 with a Volquartsen extractor. Thanks. On their website it says "its sweet-spot veloc...

Re: Advice for private sales: location?

My preference is to meet at a range like bvp, that way the purchaser can try it out, handle the firearm in a safe environment, and you get to go to the range! Plus, 3 people+ 2 guns are covered by one stamp on their shot card, so both parties can test out their new guns in a swap.

Re: Purchasing handgun in MN

Also, the permit is free and once obtained is good for a full year. The alternative is getting your permit to carry, which also acts as a permit to purchase, and lasts 5 years from date of issue. The carry permit requires a class and (i think) $50, plus the application must be done through your coun...

Re: Troy m7a1

Hi there, Would an AR lower with a troy m7a1 be considered a pistol or a sbr? Seems to have the same principles as the Sig brace. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/10/jeremy-s/new-product-troys-500-ar-15-pdw-stock-kit/ Since they call it a stock, I'm pretty sure it's legal definitio...

Re: Value oriented air rifle recommendation

I would want something more powerful for small game. My personal minimum would be 800 fps in a .22 cal projectile, with a max distance of about 40 yards. I wouldn't trust a .177 (even at 900fps+) to kill in one hit at anything over 25 yards. If she's actually going to use this for hunting a few extr...

Re: I drank the 300BLK Kool Aid

The shoulder pad seem different than I have seem before? Do you mean the Sig arm brace...? They've been around for a while now. They even have a newer model out. I have the first version. I guess, I assume there is an advantage to it? I love that the tech behind a 60 some year old rifle design keep...

Re: New gun range coming to Osseo!

Geez, I feel sorry for you guys up north. Burnsville pistol makes those other places look like a joke. $15/visit with their 10 trip punch card (after tax), including a guest and up to 3 guns, no time limit, and a choice of the 25yd pistol range or the 46yd rifle bay

Re: PSA is on point!

I ordered an upper last night at 5:56 PM, I received the shipping notification from UPS as 7:50 AM this morning! Looks like this present will be complete for the Christmas. Did they actually ship or did they just create the label? This ^^^. I ordered a berretta 92s from them this weekend and got th...

Re: Gander Mountain Black Friday Ad scans

Hmm, looking at that flier, I can honestly say I don't see one actual deal in that sea of 'sales'. The best ammo deal works out to 27cents/rd+tax for 9mm, not a bargain at today's prices. Ammoseek shows the exact same ammo starting at 22cents/rd. In term's of firearms, fleet farm's everyday prices a...

Re: AR ambidextrous mag release suggestions

Lefty, and disabled shooter. I only have about 20% use of my right hand; enough gross motor skills to grab and insert mags, but not enough fine coordination to hit the release button sufficiently and grab the mag. Right now i have to hold the buffer tube under my left arm, grab the mag with my left ...

Re: Interesting 8th race

Usually recounts kick in when the difference is under 1/2% or 1%. The margin was just over 1% here. Regardless, I doubt it'll be the last we see of Stu Mills III in Minnesota politics. He put on a very strong showing against a heavily entrenched incumbent. A hair cut will probably help the next time...
