Re: Would you pick Smith 586 or Ruger GP100 for your only revolv

Look at the s&w 627, I recently did the exact same mission and ended up the the 627 performance center. It has great balance and great looking piece and accurate and fun to shoot.

Re: Apple Valley

I wanted to revive this old thread as I live in apple valley and want to join an outdoor club for pistol work. Dakota county gun club looks near impossible to get in so I am looking for the best place to go within 45 minutes of home. Are you a veteran (or the son/daughter of a vet)? Post 435 Gun Cl...

Re: Apple Valley

Faribault is awesome, it is 50 minutes from my house in Burnsville, driveway to range, great place to shoot - if you need a sponsor let me know - Brad - Plus you can do up to 600 yards rifle which is hard to find around the cities - I'm also a member. Can sponsor - as long as you're really cool and...

Faribault will be a bit longer than that. Still, it's a fabulous club.

This looks like a great option. You need a couple of sponsors. Any folks on this forum members that would help out my wife and I?

Re: Hearing protection for indoor range use

Are electronic ones worth the money over just some good old 33 NRR passive muffs and plugs. I went to the range yesterday and the person next to me was shooting some sort of high caliber AR style gun. I am not going back to the indoor range until I buy better protection...Period. I am going to sprin...

Re: Clean firing accurate target .22lr ammo

Just purchase 1000 rounds of cci mini mags off of gunbroker. They have a good reputation so I am sure my ruger sr22 will like them.

Clean firing accurate target .22lr ammo

Is there a big difference in decent target ammo for .22 pistols? I know before you say it is yes the stuff you can actually get your hands on. Truth is you can find just about anything if you are willing to pay for it. So I was wondering if you have a favorite go to .22 caliber load that fires clean...

Re: First Revolver Need Opinions on Ruger vs. S&W

And the winner is....drum roll please. I purchased a smith and wesson 627 performance center 357. This was after going back and forth 100 times, I finally pulled the trigger today. Looking forward to it. The reviews on performance center pieces really pushed me in that direction. Thanks everyone for...

Re: First Revolver Need Opinions on Ruger vs. S&W

Getting in hand type feel them both is going to be difficult with these exact pistols as they are pretty hard to find. I reached out to a couple of places and they both said Gunbroker if you want it now or be prepared for a long wait. Fit and finish is important which does lead me more towards the S...

First Revolver Need Opinions on Ruger vs. S&W

I am looking to purchase my first revolver and have my search narrowed down to the the Smith and Wesson 686 SSR or the Ruger GP100 Match Champion. I want something I can keep a good long time built well and is accurate. These two pistols seem to fit the bill and was wondering if anyone have any firs...

My wife and are new to the hobby and john was came recommended by a friend. John was very patient and educational and his service was excellent. Hearing protection for indoor range use

Short of shelling out 700.00 for two pairs of pro ears golds what would you folks recommend. I really want to be able to carry out a conversation with the wife at the range and still protect what little hearing I have left. Too many van halen concerts and working at an airport for 30 years my favori...
