My concern is building one, going to the range and have a cop arrest me for not knowing its considered a pistol but think its a SBR and I can't produce the proper paperwork. Tempting to build one.

Other than the DNR hunting regs...there are no statewide regs regarding shooting on private land. Local cities, townships and counties may have different regulations and may limit times, locations, etc... We are not hunting. Just target shooting on private property. I did read though it though. Nothing in there for private property target shooting.
