Re: 2019 Youth Firearms Deer Season - Oct. 17-20

I maintain youth seasons came about partly, if not largely, so that adults (some)can leave the kids at home during the regular season. They can go act like a fool with their buddies at deer camp and not have kids around. There is nothing preventing anyone from taking a kid hunting during the regular...

Re: 2019 Youth Firearms Deer Season - Oct. 17-20

I will go on record as being against all of these "youth" seasons. This isn't about hunter recruitment. This is an additional season so that dad can take the kids now and leave them at home to go to deer camp on opening day will all of his buddies. If you want a special season, great, but ...

Re: Duck season

MN opens duck season at least two weeks too early. It should be no earlier than 10/1 statewide. As for youth seasons, just take your kid hunting. Youth seasons do nothing but chase birds out.

I totally get that.

I am going to have to dust of the pistol and practice a bit before I hit your next one with it. I suck a whole lot less with the PCC.

Re: Steel Shoots in 2019

SCSA the sanctioning body of official steel shoot is placing targets at 21 feet. Roundabout and Smoke and Hope are both shot with the closest plates at 21 feet. Interesting. What bullets do they allow—do they require frangible ammo?[/quote I have not encountered any ammunition requirements. I gener...

Re: Steel Shoots in 2019

The point is that in SCSA they are shot as close as 7 yards with the PCC with no issues. But is your match, your rules. Personally, I am emphasizing PCC with the goal of going to nationals this year so it would be great if I could shoot it there and if not, I will go where I can.

Re: Entry Level Semi-Auto Shotgun?

Best advice in this thread was the Stoeger. Best "entry" level shot gun. Much better than remington, mossberg, etc.

Re: Vickers Tactical, East Grand Forks MN August 3 - 6 2018

I have taken a Vickers Tactical pistol course. He does a nice job. Even with the higher instructor to student ration, you will definitely come away with some drills to improve your shooting. I would definitely take another course from him.

Re: Savage msr 224 valkyrie

Not happy about it either but the engraving is not that bad and kinda cool to be listed as the manufacturer. The $200? Well you have to pay to play. I've blown more on less.[/quote] Correct me if I am wrong but your required to notify ATF to take a sbr out of state, correct? But I can take any regul...

Re: Building an Aero Precision 308 from parts

without rockset or other higher temp thread locker it will loosen up upon firing. I use precision shims, not crush washers especially if I am going to mount a suppressor.

Re: Minneapolis officer charged in shooting of Australian woman

I have to admit , I am surprised he is being charged. I will be knocked on my backside if he is convicted. He will be convicted. The tell tale sign was way back when the union bailed out on supporting him. He's done. Something caused both officers to have their weapons out. Ie., both had enough cau...
