Re: Dillon 550 primer getting cocked

Say, quite a lot of dope here that helps. I have the Baby Dillon 550, it is the slowest loader I have ever owned, but at least you can see your mistakes before they happen! The primer feed and seating process is just average. My Green Machine from RCBS (1970's era) same friggin problem. Clean is the...

Re: AR Thermos Handle

Too cute! Makes the perfect carry-on with the Tommy gun in the Violin case and the derringer belt buckle from The Wild Wild West. (oh, I left out the lit fuse in the shoe-heel in seat 30C !) If there were booze in the can, you could make the front page in the Communist Daily-Times in Minneapolis! Wa...

Re: how much for once fired brass?

38's not as easy to find now that it is officially a wimpy round. (That's why I like it) Expect to pay 6 pennies due to the increasing spot prices for metals going to China at a fever pitch. If you play it right, hit up Kirschbaum-Krupp for mixed cal. brass, should sell really close to spot+ by the ...

Re: how much for once fired brass?

I sell brass for the 9 @ 45/1000 polished. Have some left. Roll crimp for Glocked 9s a waste of time/effort; use Lee Factory carbide crimper in the Dillon stage 4 or 5, shooting KKM Match barrel....all fine then. 9mm brass shrinks upon multiple resizings. Some loaders claim that the bolt face and th...

Re: Polygonal rifling -- Pros & Cons

One secret is in the bullet lube choice. Look for lubes containing carnauba, or buy a standard stick of lube and melt 6 - 10 crayons into it and add a tablespoon of ultrafine graphite; pour the semi slushy slurry in your preheated sizer. Carnauba melts at a temp much higher than beeswax and parafin....

Re: Kimber Delivery Delays

Cabela's has more than they can sell up in Rogers. Nice thing about Kimbers, a 1000- dollar gun DOES make you a better shooter.

Re: Wilson mags?

If handload ammo, that's a seating depth and crimping issue. Bullet walks out of case and binds, as a rule. If factory ammo is being used, it is the fault of the clip. One option is to scrap the spring and follower and go with nylon follower and Wolf extra strength spring. Also, short piece of lath ...

Re: powderpuff load for Glock 24C

I belong to BPR in Burnsville, and the range room is hard, with low ceiling. Echo/report/noise there is major. Ventilation is stingy, so there is lead vapor potential with ported bbl, too. I double muff the old ears there religously. The ported barrel is much louder that one would ever anticipate. T...

Re: powderpuff load for Glock 24C

Cool, thanks for the advice. My biggest concern is to not hammer the gun with too hot of a load. I've the Storm Lake rifled barrell for lead and I use the factory polygon barrel for copper clad major loads. The intention for the powderpuff loads was to teach my daughter not to flinch with centerfire...
