Re: Gopher Bar Meetup #2 - Wed 11/20, 6-?pm

Has there been any suggestion about having another Saturday morning BREAKFAST open carry get together? With the ladies present for example?

Re: Ruger SR9c reviews/opinions?

This model Ruger has a thumb safety and and a magazine safety. Those don't work for me. Of course, others might have a different view.

Re: Gun shop area

Scheel's is in the Mall and Gander Mountain is across the highway to the east. Neither is anything to write home to Mother about, but they are right there and available.

Re: I just got an EFFEN text message from the EFFEN Gopher Bar

Dear Seismic: February 13th works for me. I'll give the guys that generally come with me a heads up and sign in for the group when you finalize the plan.

Happy New year to the group and regards

Re: Need advice on brand new shotgun problem

It won't be shot. It'll no doubt be a piece of solder from the process of assembling the barrels. Concur in sending it back. Ask for your money for the second trip from your vendor.

Re: Where can I find reliable moon clips?

Wilson Combat in AR has them. So does Brownell. The blued ones work. The phosphate ones, not so well.

Re: NFA issue with CTD?

The individual parts except for the auto sear and its pin and spring of course, are usable spares for any semi rifle. The trigger group assembly is NOT usable in a semi. The cross pin at the front has already been mentioned: automatics have them; semis don't. The price on the other hand seems to be ...

Re: Merry Christmas!!!

Dear justaguy: How so? In 1957 I was at the University of Arkansas when Governor Faubus mobilized the National Guard to PREVENT the de-segregation of Central High School at Little Rock. My classmates who were guardsmen didn’t graduate with us. They spent a year down there (the University is at Fayet...

Re: Merry Christmas!!!

Dear Seismic: Believe thee me, being mistaken for noob is a complement! I got my first Permit to Carry from the sheriff of Madison County, AL in 1962. Seems he was having some difficulty keeping the miscreants in his care locked up in the gaol. I was a young engineer with a family to see to. I was t...

Re: Permit to purchase

I have both. I took the view that the only use for the permit is if I need to show it to a peace officer for some reason or another. No need for any private citizen to know about it at all. Especially some clerk in a gun shop. I'd been applying for and routinely getting the Permit to Purchase for ye...

Re: Merry Christmas!!!

(no joke) Dear Seismic: (no joke); but no offense taken either. My general approach to the subject: “I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for ev...

Re: Merry Christmas!!!

As an aside, Margaret and I enjoyed a very nice 'British High Tea' featuring Victorian carolers at Brits during Christmas. We had invited our retired Pastor and his wife. Naturally I DIDN'T wear my SIG P229 nor my Glock 33, because of the signs. Jimmy C and I will be there a the Gopher on the ninth ...

Re: Bleeping Gopher Breakfast. North side breakfast.

We'll be there. The headcount for my group last time was six. It'll be at least that many this time. On the down side our wives have announced, "Never again," but we'll live through that. I KNOW Jimmy C has a new bar-b-que rig for the occasion.
