Re: Self-defense story of the day...

I hope the shopkeeper isn't subject to harassment and protests, or worse, an attempt at a revenge killing. May be cowardly and seen as giving up, but at this point, I would try to sell my shop and move out of Chicago.

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

So I went to the range with and met up with someone I met on these forums who let me try some of his guns and gave me some shooting tips. I think my Glock 42 doesn't want to be sold. I had not one FTE. Not one. I let the guy I met up with shoot my Glock 42 first, to see if he had any issue. I let hi...

Re: Ammo restriction...

You can read about it here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/dec/23/new-york-lawmakers-float-bill-to-restrict-gun-ammo/ So, are they saying that they do not want legal gun owners to be well-practices and competent shooters? They want to make gun owners get licenses and mandatory ...

Newbie question...is this open to all forum members? If so, is it always in Bloomington, or does the location change?

Re: How much do you save?

Are there clubs or groups or classes that introduce ammo reloading? I really can afford another expensive and time-consuming hobby, but ammo reloading is another skill I've always wanted some exposure to. Would be happy to pay for time and materials for a session or two, just for the experience and ...

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

How about a Glock 43? I'm going to test one this week, but I am a little Glock shy right now. Leaning toward the XD-S and XD-Mod 2 right now because I like my XDM so much. I didn't like the larger Glocks I've shot. They just were not a good fit for my hands, though I'm sure that with the right grip...

Re:

I don't have any strength issues but would like to say I'm not a big guy at 150 and my xd-s45 conceals easily in anything I wear. It even fits in the pocket just fine. Sounds like you may want to look at the 9mm version because of the wrist issue though. Definitely thinking of giving the XD-S and X...

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

I don't have grip strength issues, yet, but to help prevent them I bought this pair <http://www.amazon.com/Gripmaster-Prohands-Medical-Exercisers-X-Heavy/dp/B00CK2VAFK/ref=sr_1_20_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1450869954&sr=8-20&keywords=gripmaster+2-pack+strengthener> to use while watching TV...

Re:

So, given limited funds, what group would be the preferred recipient for donations? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk I've come to the conclusion that I get the most out of my donation buck by local groups. While there are a number of national organizations that do great work for gun rights, I'm o...

Re: USCCA, what's up?

I subscribe to USCCA's newsletter and enjoy many of the free articles, though you have to deal with lots of spammy deal-of-the-day e-mail as well. That said, I have to deal with lots of spammy NRA e-mail as well. The new Google Inbox help keep these out of my main inbox, so they are not overly disru...

Re: Permit training & applications spike

Our politicians respond to terrorism by eroding our rights and trying to get rid of guns. Their constituents respond by getting permits, guns, and training. Hopefully, anti-gun politicians will see the writing on the wall and if not reverse their positions, at least quietly refocus their attentions....

Re: Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus

GOCRA will continue to exist in it's own right, and can serve a valuable purpose. That said, the Caucus allows a new direction, with a year-round presence. Not just during the legislative session. I'm looking forward to seeing a stronger focus on education, and outreach to hunters who do not necess...

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

One issue that I have is that I've had very bad RSI in the past which come back quickly when I slip into bad ergonomic habits. So, while I have a "grip master" in my Amazon buy-later list, because I've heard great things about it for developing grip and finger strength. But I worry that i...

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

TSKNIGHT, thanks for your detailed and helpful post. 2. Out of 5 full size pistols I owned, only 1 functioned with 90+% reliability. I now have two (both Ruger) that have proven to be 98+% reliable. 3. The heavier the pistol, the better reliability I have. 4. None of the smaller pistols have proven ...
