Re: Why does the gun refuse to lock open when empty?

Thanks all! This was a terrific thread, and I actually learned alot about the way a gun works through your excellent contributions! I actually haven't had a chance to shoot with the gun much since the original thread as I have been in the process of trying to buy a new gun, and shooting a bunch of n...

Current Minnesota State Park Rules?

Guys, Can anyone remind me of what the current status is on carrying in Minnesota State Parks? We spend most of our time out in the western states but happen to have a week free coming up and thought we would run up to one of the state parks up north. But it has been so long that I can't remember wh...

Where to get +P in 9mm?

Guys, I have been thinking about a new 9, and with the new gun, a change of ammo to +p. But I can't seem to find it very readily. Yesterday I was at a major gun dealer here in the cities and asked the guy who was working with me whether they carried +p ammo and there was a long puzzled pause, and th...

Re: 2nd Saturday of September North Breakfast!

We're on for the north breakfast on Saturday, September 8 at the Shoreview Perkins (Hwy 694 and Lexington Ave). We've got reservations at Perkins for "12-15", so if a few others get a chance to come last minute, we should have room. They have put us in the solarium previously so we may be ...

Re: Lunch, Bill Shooter Show, Setp 7, 11:30am

Still trying to figure out schedules, but Friday lunch is a possibility.... Does anyone know if the show ever gets a little less hectic? I have always gone right at 10:00 on Friday and it is sheer chaos over there--most of the time you can't even get near enough a table to find out what's on it. Are...

Re: Ad Hoc Shoot 8/31

I could probably make it...if I didn't mind a divorce. We have a wedding to attend out of town where our daughter is maid of honor--her best friend. Darn it, why do people have to fall in love anyway? And always getting married on the wrong days! Anyway, hope to catch you guys next time...when I may...

Re: September 2nd Saturday North Breakfast!

Thanks all for understanding my poorly phrased Title HammAr and helping explain it. And thanks Tom for calling it to my attention via pm. I have now changed the Title so even the Brits get it . It is the 2nd Saturday of September breakfast, not September 2nd. The 2nd Saturday of September falls...

2nd Saturday of September North Breakfast!

It is that time again--yes, already, we are practically into September and summer is gone. Anyone want to have breakfast again at Perkins in Shoreview on Saturday, September 8 (coming fast--only about 10 days!). Seems we have settled on 9:00 AM as a good time for most and, unless someone objects voc...

Re: Why does the gun refuse to lock open when empty?

Thanks again, guys. I know it is not limpwristing (not that I haven't been guilty of that in the past, but not anymore), but I suppose it is possible I have been resting my finger newly on the slide release button--if it is, don't blame me for that: some ace shooter at Hutchinson pointed out that I ...

Re: Cabela's Sale / Promotion

Does anyone know if they really are going to have their fall sale like last year, or is this $150 off the next time you go the only thing they are going to do? I got a great gun out there last year too, and have my eye on another if so. But I will go elsewhere if I have to drive out there twice and ...

Re: Ad Hoc Shoot 8/31

After watching you shoot out in Hutchinson last weekend, you think any of us are going to go out and try to shoot with you? I don't think so!

(Actually I would love to, and maybe pry some shooting tips out of you as well, but tomorrow is total chaos on my schedule as it is.)

Re: Why does the gun refuse to lock open when empty?

Thanks for all the good suggestions guys. Yes, I was using only one magazine so perhaps it is the magazine. I will check it and the other magazine to see if it is a problem there as well. Thanks Mark for all the good counsel...wanna' come over and clean the gun and magazines for me? I hate...

Why does the gun refuse to lock open when empty?

Guys, Just wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions. The last time I shot at the range (with a newly cleaned and lubed gun, though I admit it has been a long time since I ripped the gun apart and cleaned it completely inside) the gun refused to lock open when it was empty (Taurus Millenium P...
