Re: GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

This thing is more or less finished. Time to move on to the Ar-15 SBR build. First time using duracoat. Used the Aerosol kit in Combat Gray and I'm very happy with how it turned. Stripped the receiver of whatever black gunk it was coated with, came off with little effort. Wire wheeled some tricky sp...

Re: GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

Engraved! Taking it out on Thursday. Some better pictures, all cleaned up. And some shots of it with an AFG and the rear mount. http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/attachments/ak-talk/32777d1466878820-got-my-stamp-mini-draco-sbr-sig-sauer-mcx-mpx-side-folder-engraved-1.jpg http://www&...

Re: GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

Regardless, it is in the possession of a class 3 NFA dealer for engraving. Might get some Cerekote soon as well.

Re: GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

Upon further research, as a "maker or manufacturer" I technically have 7 days to get mark it after building. So it will get dropped off at Atomic tomorrow. Which sucks cuz it will probably be a week or more to get that done.

Re: GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

Indeed you are correct. I have since removed the stock and foregrip and dismantled the rifle completely. I'll drop it off for engraving tomorrow.

I got some misinformation but found an ATF letter explaining that all existing markings are legit except the name.

Thanks

Re: GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

I wanted to get an osprey 45 before the new rules go into effect, but money is tight. Hopefully they will eventually be removed from the class 2 or whatever it is someday.

GOT MY STAMPS!!!! 2 SBRs. One is finished.

Took about 3 months give or take. Used a trust from 199 trust (recommend) and e-filed. Filed for a Mini-Draco pistol and an Atomic M-15 (AR-15) receiver. Haven't touched the AR yet, as that will be a expensive machine (piston 10.5in). But the AK is done, just had to order the stock. Specs: 2014 Mini...

Re: Would a Hillary presidency be tolerable?

Same worthless arguments against sanders. No, nothing is free; he has laid out detailed plans on how he plans to pay for the social programs he wants to implement (Tax on speculation and trading for schools, Income and payroll tax for healthcare [which were already paying, but lets gut some of the a...

Re: Would a Hillary presidency be tolerable?

I hope Sanders wins the nomination. Its a long shot, but not impossible. While he is not pro -gun, he is not anti-gun either. And gun control is by no means his top priority. I think he realizes that crime and gun violence is a product of poverty and oppression, and that is what he is fighting to en...

I don't agree with most of his views on anything.

Re: I added some new stainless to my stainless springfield

The old mainspring, and the current safety are Smith & Alexander parts. I only had the corrosion on the housing, and only on the one side. I'm thinking there was some contaminant in the casting. I clean my guns with 3M non chlorinated brake cleaner. If I got some nasty hard stuff, I'll soak the ...

I added some new stainless to my stainless springfield

So here's how the gun sat a few days ago. (please excuse my semi-poor fitment of the Grip Safety, it was my first) http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=26886&stc=1&d=1419728357 But then I pull it out to go shooting and I see this on the Mainspring?? Pret...

Re: Smooth out a Mini14 trigger?

My mini-14 trigger has about a 6 pound pull with a fairly clean break, which I'm fine with. However the first stage feels like the sear surfaces are coated in sandpaper (and can actually hear a gritty noise too). I don't want to lighten the trigger, but it would be nice to clean up that first stage...
