XDs in .45

Well I picked up a new, for me, toy, it is a used pistol, and with the extended mag, it is quite controllable. However it is similar to grabbing a Tiger by the nads. When you squeeze off a round, the little Tiger sure roars. It is the original not the Mod.2 Once the weather clears a bit I will be pu...

Re: Pick one "while you still can" gun

I'd go for an older Remington semi-auto in .308, .270, or .30-06 with lots of mags. No evil looking gun hysteria, and lots more powerful caliber.

Re: A heart warming image.

Helmet, elbow pads, knee pads. kidney protectors, riding gloves, safety glasses. This kids parents should be in jail for child endangerment. At least he gets to carry an AR to ward off space aliens and Zombies.

Re: Best way to unfreeze a stuck hex head screw?

DO NOT use a pencil torch! Those things can reach 2400 degrees and that is to hot, it can ruin the finish. Instead follow the advise to use a soldering iron, they are regulated to 700 degrees and are a safer alternative.
Let us know what happens.

Re: The NEW 7.6 Creedmoor — Best .30-Cal Cartridge Ever?

I wouldn't shoot a shoulder fired 20 mm even using your shoulder.

Re: 45-70 Reloads

Shooting "grannies biscuits" isn't shooting over a baited field, unless you are hunting rednecks. And they ain't ever in season around here.

Re: Hatfield SGL 12ga. $99 Walmart single shot shotgun review.

I wouldn't say it is a beautiful gun, but the wood through the wrist is nice and straight. It goes bang when needed, and you didn't have to sell a child to buy it. What's not to like.

Re: 45-70 Reloads

With reduced powder loads in my 45-70. I use a measured amount of UNsalted corn meal over the powder. thus when the 405 gr lead bullet is seated I have a slightly compressed load. This solves the positional powder detonation problem. My shooting buddies call these loads "Grannies Biscuits"...

Lack of input from Ladies

I can not help but notice the lack of threads in the powder room section of this forum. Are there so few Ladies, do they have that little interest in the board that they do not participate, or have we Men made this board so uninviting as to limit their interest? In my case although my wife was an av...

Re: Don’t Register Anything

Any firearms purchased before you began using MJ would not be covered by this change, as they were legally purchased, and therefore are ex post facto to this change.

Re: Use Medical Marijuana? 30 days to turn in your guns

two items to consider on this topic.

1. Firearms purchased Before getting on medical MJ are NOT subject to this ruling, as they are ex post facto, that is after the fact. Grandfathered so to speak.

2. This action is being undertaken on the State level, not the Federal.

Re: StarTrib - Yet another article full of misinformation

These idiots are not even reading their own statistics.
This year there were 10 or more casings at 13.5% of crime scenes.
Last year there were 10 or more casings at 15% of crime scenes. That is an improvement, yet the article makes it seem to be an increase.
