Re: Is this none nfa?

So, I can take a shockwave and put a shockwave on it? That's the way I understand it. The Shockwave firearm isn't designed to be shouldered so it doesn't fall under SBS or SBR rules and braces aren't designed to be shouldered either. The one you're considering is a legal firearm with no tax stamp a...

Re: Shot show 2019

Another interesting product, though I'm not ready to be on the bleeding edge with the current $2,500 buy in price, the Ohler 89 BC chrono might be the beginning of the next big step in long range shooting. From my understanding, it uses their standard optical chrono near the muzzle and a wireless ac...

Re: Shot show 2019

CZ 457 22lr looks interesting since the Tikka t1x from last year's SHOT still isn't readily available. https://t9c6w9j5.stackpathcdn.com/hammer/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/457VarmintATONE-768x512.png https://t9c6w9j5.stackpathcdn.com/hammer/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/457Va...

Re: Large bore suppressor

I am a manufacturer. The consumer pays the stamp. One of the perks of having an FFL. Once I'm done with it I just destroy it and file the appropriate paperwork. Been researching info about getting my FFL, but haven't taken the plunge yet. A few questions if you don't mind... What's the cost of GCA ...

Re: Large bore suppressor

OK, sending it back to them for replacement would make sense.

Re: Large bore suppressor

So let's say a guy were to make an adapter so he could use an oil filter like Old Man FCSA says. Would you have to register the oil filter or the adapter? If you had to register the filter, would that mean you could never change it? I have no intention trying this, I'm just curious. Adaptor, they a...

TTAG 27 suppressor test

Pretty interesting test... https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2018/07/ttag-contributor/largest-30-caliber-silencer-testing-event-ever/ I'm always a bit suspicious when the company(Dakota/mack) doing the test ends up doing so well. Yet any of the top 7-8 likely could have been the quietest...

Re: Safe space

My opinion: Fancy safes/safe rooms look nice and make people feel good, but they only keep honest people honest. Given enough time and motivation even multi-million dollar bank vaults aren't impervious. Insurance is the only true fail safe protection of your investment. Alarms and sprinklers are far...

Re: Long Range Endeavor: Tikka CTR or Tikka TAC both in 6.5Cr ?

[/quote] I've shot NRA/CMP Highpower for 20 years and have never chronoed a load. If you shoot a rifle and cartridge combo that's in common use, there's no need to reinvent the wheel. True, we can take new shooters get them zeroed at 100yds. Then have them dial the generic come up of 16MOA with a 30...

Re: Long Range Endeavor: Tikka CTR or Tikka TAC both in 6.5Cr ?

I've decided I want a paper-punching 1,000 yard gun. I shot at the Atlantic Fleet Match earlier this month and when they had their 1,000 yard match, I didn't play because of a few factors (besides, I don't like borrowing guns). So being a Tikka fan for all my hunting rifles, I've narrowed down my c...

Re: Savage E-clips?

Check Fleet Farm, Napa, or Fastenal. $3.99 is still highway robbery. Thanks, I'll check them out. $3.99 is a bit high, but I can live with it... if it's the right part. I'm still a bit bothered by all the schematics not showing the clip that I broke. Though I might order it through Brownells anyway...

Re: Savage E-clips?

Did they say why it has to go to a ffl. Because it's part of the fire control group. They are well aware it's not required by law and everyone is very quick with the canned response "that's our policy, sir" along with passing you onto the next person. After the 4th person I got tired of t...

Re: Savage E-clips?

Numrich maybe? https://www.gunpartscorp.com You rock! What they call the "safety retaining ring" sure looks like the part I want... Out of stock at Numrich, but cross referencing part #'s shows Brownells has it in stock. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/safety...
