Re: Is .357 Magnum the most versatile modern caliber?

I was thinking in more of EOTWAWKI situation. Shooting birds in the air and clays were not worries. Turkeys, pheasants and whatever can easily be shot for food on the ground with a nice lever gun. That said a 22lr would be the most useful Your going to find a lot of pheasants sitting in an EOTW sit...

Re: Is .357 Magnum the most versatile modern caliber?

Oh for #%&@$ SAKE! No wonder this board is dead. Sorry I tried to start a discussion. What, you don't want opinions on your question, or only ones that agree with you. I think your question has been well answered. I assumed you were asking is .357 the most versatile handgun cartridge. I happen ...

Re: Primary Arms 4-14FFP and other optic woes

I thought I would share my experience so far. I purchased the above mentioned primary arms scope about 6 months ago. I mounted it up on an AR-10 using an American defense mfg. one piece mount and have been very happy with the setup until now. I know ar-10's are tough on optics, but all 107 rounds w...

Re: Is .357 Magnum the most versatile modern caliber?

I'm not asking about the most versatile rifle cartridge, or the most versatile handgun cartridge. Hypothetically if you could have any number of guns in any styles you wanted...but they all have to be chambered in just one common caliber. 12ga is a good choice that has a lot of potential, but doesn...

Re: Mn Permit to Carry Satisfies Background Check

What's the big deal about a dealer doing a background check? It takes about 5 to 10 minutes on the phone with NICIS. For a lot of people that is accurate. But there are quite a few people who get delayed on initial NICS check. They sometimes cannot go home with their purchase same day. Also, can yo...

Just a matter if deciding what is most important and where you are least willing to compromise.

The act of carrying a handgun for self defense is in and of itself a compromise.

I'll give the .44 all of that. I would contend that a .38 special +p defensive load is much more friendly to the recoil sensitive and readily available than a .44 special one.

Re: Is .357 Magnum the most versatile modern caliber?

Is the .357 the most versatile common handgun chambering, yes. Is it most suited for anyone situation, of course not, that is why it is so versatile. There are better self defense choices, there are better carry choices, there are better hunting choices, there are better bear defense choices, there ...

Re: ATF reverses itself allowing the shouldering of Sig Braces

I should go there just to piss them off. I put a VFG since its over 26 inches and put the butt stock close but not touching the shoulder. Easy to do with the VFG. Time we get a petition together and fight to abolish the ATF in some form to get them away from making these dumb ass rulings. What's th...

Re: Swift 2A injunctions?

It's potentially an exciting time in our judicial branch. If we could get a super majority of originalists, we could end up making big government unconstitutional and get back to our liberty loving roots that got lost around 100yrs ago when things turned South. I'd be delighted if we could convert ...

Re: 16,000 Athletes in High School Clay Target League

Yup. That is how we get treated. They want our activity fees but we are still the red headed step children of the high school activities department.
