Re: So how's that 'Red Flag' law ACTUALLY working in California

$2182 dollars per gun received. If they offered a "buy-back" with $2182 per gun, they might get a few more "sheeple" to turn in their guns. Not that I could after losing all my STUFF in the StCroix river in a boating accident. At $2182 per gun I could buy, er I mean have, a lot ...

Re: Stock & Barrel Eagan

The Chanhassen one seemed well run the day I was there. Clean, good air quality, fairly knowledgeable staff, range officer was professional. I just hate paying those rates. I would rather shoot outdoors and save some money. I only went their because I had a guest who wanted to see it and he is not r...

Re: .458 SOCOM build opinions

There are a lot of bullets in the .451/.452 range and they are cheaper. I haven't seen 600 grains but there are hard cast 500's as that's what a .460 mag shoots although they can hit 60,000 psi instead of the 38,500 limit of the bushy in an AR. Plus you can resize a .458 if desired. I'm just wonderi...

Some guys have even done it with a Dremel.

Or buy one with the larger ejection port.

Re: .458 SOCOM build opinions

Thanks folks. Since I already have a 338LM bolt, did look into the 338 federal. 458 is looking better each time I read about it though. What upper is needed? Would think that big of a caliber requires larger than a AR10 upper. No, that is the beauty of it. It is an ar15 upper and lower, just change...

Re: .458 SOCOM build opinions

There is just something about throwing a large chunk of hard cast lead downrange that feels so right!

Re: .458 SOCOM build opinions

You folks who own the 458, any reason you went this route instead of 50 Beowulf? Been considering a Beowulf for awhile but read the long thread on AR15.com and now weighing both pro’s and cons between both. 458 has more ammo options from what I have read. Anything I’m missing? Honestly, because I s...
