Re: Cleaning a rusty barrel

Bearcatrp wrote:Have no idea how it shoots. This rifle has been sitting a long time. Wanted to clean it up before trying. Can’t believe how much powder residue I’m still getting out of it. Will have to wait until spring to test it out.

Why wait till spring? They shoot fine in the winter.

Re: Liberals erupt after Rep. Cawthorn cleans gun during...

I do find it somewhat disrespectful. He’s paid to be a representative of his constituents. It’s not too hard to pay attention while you work. I honestly think this was a stunt on his part to say FU to folks he doesn’t care for. Not good while you are on the people’s dime. And yes, they should have ...

Re: Pawn shop revolvers?

Sure always worth looking at. Just know what you are looking at and don't over pay. Not many pawn shops in the metro I am aware of that carry guns anymore though but maybe other know of more.

Re: Announcement from Sportsman's Warehouse

Cabela's was no where near going under. The private owners wanted to cash out, having $5B in one asset is just bad financial planning. Happens all the time. Now that said BP has destroyed the Cabela's brand, the service, store layout and selection is beyond a joke. The Rogers store looks like a gho...

Re: Announcement from Sportsman's Warehouse

Smart move. Cabelas was stupid to merge with bass pro. There were some shady business practices on the part of Cabela's that left them in a bad position. If not for BPS buying them they would be out of business. I worked at Cabela's and worked the customer service and hunting departments. Yes it wa...

Oh I doubt that. Cabelas was privately owned at the time I believe and the sale price if I recall correctly started with a 5 and had a B behind it so... I would not call that "stupid".

And their quality and service went down.

Re: Big Lake police chief resigns over illegal gun purchase

Nobody has any comments regarding the 'straw purchase' questions I put forth earlier? I would have thought there would be a bunch of people jumping in to tell me how poorly I understand things and how it really is. Or at least one "who was your instructor?" comment. You seem to have a goo...

Re: Proposed Dominick Black Plea Deal, Felony Charges Dropped

Black might not be totally out of the woods though. He might not be charged by any Wisconsin court but I believe the Feds could take the case for lying on the 4473. If the Feds can and do, Black may have a tough time defending himself due to the plea and his testimony. The critical fact may be that...
