Re: Ignorant question

If you dig at an outdoor range, it is not unusual to see intact bullets in the sand backdrop.

It is usually FMJ bullets.

I assume they are hitting soft spots in the backer.

Re: 45 ACP

My favorite 45 is a 1916 made Enfield revolver. Shaved for moon clips. It got lots of attention at the qualifier for my last carry renewal. All the instructors got to shoot it!

Re: Beginning of the End for Brass Cases?

The green factor may be a downside. I don't foresee the Brass Rats scooping up empties if there is no metal in the spent cases. Probably won't be a factor for most reloaders but I recall military spent brass is sold by the armed forces sometimes.

Re: Tight Then Loose

+1 on the fouling as a first guess.

Depending on the range you use and it's rules, it would be an interesting experiment to shoot 3-4 groups and then clean the bore to find out.

Re: Why prepping is rational statistically

The best defense would be to be invisible. However, if a majority of a population survives a disaster, there is little to no space to disappear to. After a few weeks , people less prepared would start roving. There are few areas other than wilderness where you could truly hide. We can leverage our s...

Re: Why prepping is rational statistically

I am most concerned about SHTF situations where once others know I have guns and/ or ammo to trade, someone will get the idea to just take them. Yes I can defend myself and family, but a small group of neer-do-wells could eventually take whatever a small family of defenders might have. Not without l...

Re: Can You Hunt With A Bump Stock Rifle?

Maybe hog hunting is the only application I can think of. Spray and pray into a sounder of hogs running every which way after the first shot. I'd rather use a normal semi-auto and pick my shots. I have never been hog hunting but from the TV shows I have seen, after the first shot it is nothing but c...
