Re: @ANTIFA_US: ‘Tonight We Move in to the Residential Areas

I've seen these threats in several places "we're coming to the suburbs", but obviously not mine (south metro area). It's been dead quiet for the past 3 nights. Police vehicles parked in intersections or cruising the main routes, but otherwise you'd never know anything was going on.

Don't get me started. I renewed my license in September 2018 and then had to get an extension on my temporary in January 2019 and finally received the new license in February.

Re: PTC application page 2 question

Thanks for all the input. Dropped off my application on Tuesday.

FYI the gun permit office at City Hall has moved across the foyer to "room 22". Happened some time in the past 5 months.

I was told I'd get the permit in 3 - 4 weeks.

Re: PTC application page 2 question

Thanks! Dropping off the application tomorrow or Tuesday! Anyone know how quick new PTCs are getting processed? Is it the full 30 days for new permits?

PTC application page 2 question

I completed the PTC course tonight and am filling out the application. I have a question I can't find the answer to: On the Minnesota Uniform Firearm Application - Permit to Carry form, do I complete the Agency Name, Agency Address, and Agency Contact boxes or leave these blank? If I fill them out (...

Re: NICS default proceed questions

Just to be clear, I know I should get a proceed. But I've heard about false denials and it seems like it was fairly common for new green card holders in the past when there was a requirement to prove 90 days residency.

Thanks all for the discussion!

Re: NICS default proceed questions

Thanks for the info!

To put my mind at peace, I'll maybe check in with the FFL about the outcome.

Re: NICS default proceed questions

Sounds like you got your pistol. Not sure what the issues are. If you are put out that it took longer because you aren't a citizen my snarky response would be "how long would the process have taken in your country"? I'm not criticizing the process, but I don't entirely understand it. My u...

NICS default proceed questions

Hi all, Made my first U.S. gun purchase this month. Acquired a PTP in September and purchased a pistol last Friday. I got a DELAY response during the background check and was told by the sales manager that such delays are common for green card holders (despite showing the green card and supplying th...

Re: Hi from Canada

I had the impression that most PTC classes wanted you to bring your own firearm. Are rentals commonly available for PTC?

Re: Hi from Canada

I'm in south Minneapolis currently. My first purchase will likely be an AR or pistol (or both if my wife lets me). I thought there was a requirement to have a permit to purchase for an AR, but I can't find any information about that. In any case, at this point I'm not sure whether a permit to purcha...

Hi from Canada

Hello! I'm a Canadian citizen who has been working in Minnesota for almost 5 years and just received approval for permanent residency in the U.S. this week. Prior to leaving Canada, I owned a handful of firearms ranging from a VZ-58 (one of the few semi-auto rifles not heavily regulated in Canada) t...
