H110 & 2400

I bought some H110 and 2400 powder for my .357 and .44 mag loads but I read that these powders can cause problems in less than full-house loads. I plan on using mag primers for best ignition... What problems would there potentially be if not loading toward the max, and how much could I cut back? I a...

Re: Pistol Primers

Yeah, Cabela's had an April date that was pushed back. Guess it's not their fault. I dunno. I've got enough to last for awhile, but I plan to have a standing order out there just to be in the queue-since I don't know how long it will be..........

Re: KRH444

I had great success with the KRH 444 at the range today! The .44 sp were quite mild, but the mags sounded off and kicked pretty well. Nothing unmanageable for me, however. It is still fun! There was a fellow at the range with a S&W 500 and I passed on the chance to fire it. He was in the rifle b...

Re: KRH444

I'll let you know. Actually everything is loud in that small area! I wish someone would open up a nice outdoor range. There were some nice ones out in AZ when I lived there. I think the one north of Phoenix is still there...

Re: .40 s&w reload results

Actually I had been reloading .38's before I started on the .40's. I defer to your wisdom. But I mis-stated the load. Checking my notes, which I make when I am at the bench, I used 6.2g of Power Pistol, cases are all Win, and are 1.135 OAL. I had no issues with these out of the Sig P229 or the Kahr ...

Re: Cabela's Coupon?

Went to Owatonna for it. From my place it's about the same distance as Rogers and a much nicer drive!

Re: KRH444

I removed the grips and field stripped it for thorough cleaning before I try it this weekend. I have a feeling I'll be wanting grips with some cushioning of the backstrap. I had no issue with the recoil from a 29 8.375" bbl but this is a different animal. I plan on reloading 44 sp for it mostly.

Re: KRH444

Thank you very much! I got a piece of folded paper with the two paragraphs in the upper left of the .pdf you referenced, but I didn't get steps 1-6....

Seems simply enough but it's nice to have the instructions.

Thanks again!

Re: Cabela's Coupon?

Thanks!

It came also with these grips, which I put on right away.

KRH444

I got a new Ruger KRH444 with the one piece Hogue grips. The gun came with a removal tool, a little U shaped piece of plastic. The instructions were worthless. What is the best and proper way to remove the grips with this tool? I'd like to field strip the gun and clean it well before the first range...

Re: .40 s&w reload results

I used 7.0g Power Pistol in .40 with 180g FMJ

Worked very well. That was my first batch of reloads with .40

I have a bunch of magnum SP primers but didn't use them with this batch. I am reluctant to used the mag primers in the 40.

Re: Pistol Primers

I've been to Gunstop and found John to be helpful and incredibly smart, as we all know. I buy what I can there, even though it's quite a drive.

My standing order for primers at Cabela's at $29,99/k has been delayed to June.
