Re: South metro smith?

Ahlman's is well worth the drive. It's a huge shop out in the middle of nowhere. They've got a huge variety of used guns to peruse, and some really interesting stuff in their display cases. The staff are very knowledgeable too. They have full machine shop capabilities on site. If you need an obscure...

Re: Concealed carry choices

I liked the suggestion regarding getting a good belt. I'll be looking for a quality belt designed to support gun leather. Thanks again for that point and all the other solid advise.

Concealed carry choices

I got my permit in the mail last week. My wife should have hers this week or next. Now it's time to pick the right concealed carry weapons for us. Cathy really likes the Shield EZ as it's much easier for her to rack than others she has handled. I think we're pretty firm on getting her that. I have a...

Re: Mossberg MC1 handgun

Have you guys seen that mossberg is putting out a single stack 9mm handgun? It looks interesting. Will be interested to see where the price point on it lands. It has its own magazines but can take Glock g43 mags. And it uses sig sites. So it’s kind of a mutt. But might be a smart move on their part...

Re: South metro smith?

While it's not exactly south metro, it's worth the drive. Take it down to Ahlman's in Morristown. It's an hour south of here. (35 south to 60, west on 60 to Morristown, follow the signs.) They do very good work, and the shop is huge. They've got a ton of stuff to look at and purchase, both new and u...

Re: New down here

Welcome aboard Border Badger. I'm a newbie here too. Been on here just a couple weeks. Good choice on the 870. Nothing wrong with such a tried and true platform. I'm south metro too. If you ever want to compare notes, or just swap some lies, look me up.

Re: Looking for Permit Class

My wife and I just took our CCP class last Saturday at Modern Sportsman in Burnsville. I believe they run classes every weekend. Nice to be able to do everything at the same location. They have the range right there, so it goes pretty good. Really liked the quality of the instruction.

Re: Hatfield SGL 12ga. $99 Walmart single shot shotgun review.

Hatfield markets a semi-auto in 12 ga. and gauge also at Wally-World for $206.00. My buddy bought one, and has had nothing but trouble with it. Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, he got what he paid for. A quick search on You Tube revealed a video of these guns having issues with the forestock c...

Re: How Stock & Barrel Gun Club screwed my family over

I can't fathom that they had the balls to charge you for the drug test. Jeez, that's lower and worm crap. So sorry for her/your misfortune. I'll never set foot in their shop.

Re: Modern Sportsman opening a Range in Burnsville

I've shot a couple times at Modern Sportsman in Burnsville. They do sell memberships, but also have shooting open to the public too. My wife and I just took our Concealed Carry class over there Saturday, and I thought the instructor did a very good job. The range is very nice, and well kept. The key...

New member here

Greetings, one and all. I'm a new member here, and looking forward to meeting others here to talk about guns, shooting, and hunting in Minnesota. I've been over on 24 Hour Campfire for ove 10 years. I'm mostly a deer hunter, and do both gun and ML seasons. My go to gun is one of my beloved Savage Mo...
