"at least one weapon was recovered" must refer to the weapon/s used by the perpetrators. But with today's lack of reporting skills who knows.

Re: Car thief shot by homeowner

Guess nobody likes freedom of speech around here. ;) Yep; I've never seen a sign in a window change the facts of what transpired. ETA: The shooter has now been arrested. Police brought Vincent N. Trotter, 36, in for questioning about what led to the shooting at approximately 10 a.m. in the Payne-Ph...

Re: Red Flag law and safety

And if you think that someone's property will be returned as soon as the court finds no cause, you are dreaming. I would not be surprised if the plan is that the departments will be able to hold the guns (but dispose of ammo) and charge a "reasonable" storage fee. This was my point in ask...

Re: Red Flag law and safety

First of all, I totally understand that those who are trying to pass the Red Flag laws only want to get rid of guns. They don't really care about safety even though the purpose of the bill is couched in those terms. I am considering coming up to the capitol on Thursday and participating in the lobby...

Re: Red Flag law and safety

If the goal of Red Flag laws (as declared) is safety for all concerned, does the proposed law here in MN have a provision for the temporary detainment of the individual instead of their firearms? I have looked at a .pdf booklet put out by The National Alliance on Mental Illness- Minnesota ( https:/...

Re: Mossberg 590 Shockwave

I’m curious. Couldn’t ATF turn around and make this gun illegal using same tactics they are using with bumpstocks since there were questions about its legality from the beginning.

Why is he eligible to be released?

Because outside of exigent circumstances, it’s codified in our Constitution.

Seems to me being a felon in possession of a firearm would be exigent circumstances.

Re: Interesting article in Politico

I don't see the anti's ever offering any concessions. It is not their way. They believe it gives them the moral high ground.

Interesting article in Politico

I thought it was a interesting read with a new idea (to me anyway) I see good and bad in it. One aspect of the article is that author tries to answer questions that would come from both sides. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/04/28/gun-nuts-guide-to-gun-control-federal-semi-automatic-fir...
