Re: Trouble with an AR build - thoughts?

A while back someone I know had that same bolt jamming problem with a his newly built AR. I just asked him what solved it and he said he started buying 223 instead of 5.56 and has not had a problem since. Make of that what you will I guess. I'm not sure if that means gas problem or buffer spring/we...

Re: Nosler load data

I hate to take over for Seismic Sam, but GO BUY a proper reloading manual and READ it. These companies spend huge amounts of time and money to develop the loading data for you to use. So use it. Getting all your data off the internet will get you burned sooner or later. Getting your data off a compa...

Re: .44 mag - what barrel length?

1982 Michigan allowed pistols to be used to hunt deer. My T/C Contender in 44 Mag was rechambered to 444 Marlin and Magna-Ported with 6-port rifle style. Mounted a Leupold 2X long eye relief scope. Practiced a lot until right hand would go numb from recoil. In Michigan, I sat at bottom of big oak t...

Re: Some dudes think their stuff is gold

Actually my guns are worth their weight on gold, once you calculate the upgrades made and the ammo that has been fired thru a particular firearm. ArmaLite AR-50 with 2 new barrels and the 7000 rounds fired thru to date. Target rounds are about $3.25 each now days. Basic rifle with scope weighs 49.76...

Re: safe cracking

Use a GOOD rust penetrant like KROIL instead of WD40.

Drill a hole near lock and use a borescope to view internals and condition thereof.

Use a BIGGER hammer.

Good Luck with your project.

Please report back how it turns out.

Re: Shout Out To smurfman

BigDog, Now don't hide them - I need to find them while you are sleeping - Maybe I will leave a few (scrap) Match IK-98 brass casings that you love so much and try to steal with MurphyT's assistance. I wasn't currently in a position to buy more primers while I have over 3000 on the shelves now of al...

Re: 1st Wed Lunch Is Here

While the shooters posted about above are great shooters, it is a case of throwing big money at a project and covering up the negative details while publishing the better points of the project. WHY am I critical of this project - read the details - 21 missed shots before a hit - then no further deta...

Working Full-Time now = no longer will be available for Wednesday Lunch.

However - as long as 2nd Saturday breakfast stays in Perkins in North StPaul/Maplewood area - I will try to make them as conditions allow.
