Re: San Francisco officials brand NRA a ‘domestic terrorist org'

yukonjasper wrote:Seriosly, what would need to happen to reverse this cultural shift? What event or series of events would need to happen to snap us out of this catatonic state?

I'd imagine that being invaded by a foreign military would probably be sufficient, but not exactly a good way to get there.

Re: O'Rourke Believes Americans Will Willingly Comply

AIUI, there hasn't been a single magazine turned into police, in response to New Jersey's latest ban. They can still claim victory by "assuming" that those not turned in were destroyed or shipped out of state. Of course, that's not entirely true. On a national level, that claim would be p...

Thank you Ed, that puts some of it into context. So we still do not know who was shooting.

I haven't read any details identifying the shooters, but my guess is that it was a couple of 50 year old guys from Todd County arguing John Deere vs Case/IH superiority. ;)

Re: An interesting discussion on background checks

An interesting article and proposal, but.... Without some kind of registration scheme, how would law enforcement know if a firearm was legally transferred? What would keep someone from selling/buying without the check? I suppose the same thing that keeps some people from buying drugs on the street ...

Re: Fleet Farm drops "Assault Style Rifles"

I think it had more to do with his involvement with Huldra Arms and his interests as he was in charge of marketing, etc... It was nice while it lasted though I can recall ever seeing a really good gun deal there. That's an excellent observation. I don't recall ever seeing an AR of any other brand a...

Re: Fleet Farm drops "Assault Style Rifles"

If true, it would not surprise me. FF has been circling the drain ever more as the effects of ownership change become more, and more apparent. A few years ago, I drove passed a homer's depot(still do) and 2 Menard's stores to get to MFF. Lately, I've been lucky if they have 1/2 the stuff I intended...

Re: Del Tone gun range for sale

^^^^^^^^^^

The rifle portion of that range was dealt a serious blow when a round went over the berm a few years ago. That's why you see the shooting "windows" on the lanes. I think it's hanging on by a thread of being shut down.

Re: Trump calls for mental health & gun reforms after shooting

^^^^^^^^

You guys did a great job in MN and the Senate held firm. I was referring to the US Senate with regard to Trump's proposals.

Re: Trump calls for mental health & gun reforms after shooting

^^^^^^ I don't think we are going to have many politicians willing to oppose RF and UBC. We can either be in on the crafting of the legislation to make it somewhat better or scream "Shall not be infringed" and have it stuffed down our throats. The NRA is wounded right now and is going to b...

Re: Trump calls for mental health & gun reforms after shooting

In light of my prior post... I have to ask... At what point do we think it would be appropriate to report someone? How many red flags/warning signs would you have to see before you decided a person was a threat to others? Personally, I think it is an uncomfortable question. Like the GF before, we r...

Re: Pick one "while you still can" gun

10 of the PSA cheap m4 clones and then sell them when the ban talk pushes then to 5xs their price. This would be the smart money bet. Or, just buy a dozen or so lowers and sell them for $150+ when the panic sets in. Unless the new ban prohibits transfer(or possession) of existing AWs. In that case,...

That might actually be the best idea. Let them spend their time and money being lonely and ignored.

Re: Moving a safe, ideas?

I chose a slightly different approach. Moved the safe a few feet, cut the carpet out of that area, put a piece of 1/2" plywood an inch smaller than the safe on the floor and pushed it back on top. The new carpet (and any future replacements) tuck under the edge of the safe and look like they go...
