Re: Brass expansion (Spring back)

No corrosion. They all seem fine. The powder was stuck together and black. Powder is Reloader 17. When I reload, I go through every aspect. Full resize. Trim to length. Primer pockets cleaned. I tumble clean with the pins so they are almost like new. I don't care to anneal. I toss them first sign of...

Brass expansion (Spring back)

Has some reloads from a few years back I was shooting recently. 200 gr Hornady ELD X out of my bolt gun. Was having some issues with them so also brought a new batch to shoot. The older pills had the purplish tip that Hornady had to change to a solid red tip. The newer loads were shooting great. Plu...

Winchester Mil brass

Is there something different between this brass and LC brass? Was removing the mil crimp and used a cleaning tool to clean the bottom of the pocket and it fit right in on brass I did not ream out. So tried to put a primer in brass that I haven't reamed out. fit right in. The ring is there though. Bo...

Re: Removing primer crimp

Well this sucks. It works but to slow. I see RCBS makes a swagger. Just looking for the cheapest that will work. Recommendations? My offer stands. Just maybe I could sell you other stuff you didn't know you wanted. :D Thanks for the offer. That’s another reason why I don’t come out. Other half fina...

Re: Removing primer crimp

Have tried rubber gloves. Sucks. Did try a few with the spark plug socket. Works fairly well. Larger object to hold onto. I'll go try around 100 to confirm this.

Re: Removing primer crimp

Haven't tried it yet but the large spark plug socket with the rubber inside fits perfect for 308 brass. Nice and snug. If this fails, will order another tool as my old fingers won't last long. Am using my frankfort arsenal station to do this. Will post my results this afternoon.

Am thinking the spark plug socket with the rubber piece inside may just work. Will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Scheels has SRP

Just left Scheels. They have CCI small rifle primers in stock at St. Cloud. Of course they are expensive though. Got lucky and grabbed the last 4 lb jug of power pistol.

Re: Removing primer crimp

Now I know why I bought that tool years ago. My fingers are killing me from holding onto the brass. Can't remember the name of the tool but it was blue case over it.

I have those and probably use those. Just thought I would ask before I begin. Thanks.

Removing primer crimp

Been a long time since I had to do this. Long enough that I sold my tool since I didn't think I would need it. wrong. Have 1000 to remove. Don't want to buy another tool. Anything new out there to do this or just ream it out the old fashion way? Thanks.
