Re: Bayou 124gn .357 bullets. Nothing to crimp?

I don't get all the hate for taper crimps on 357. There are several reasons for using a taper crimp. For one a taper crimp is less sensitive to case length so you don't have to worry as much about sorting and trimming. Second if you are loading cheap rounds with plated bullets it is less likely to ...

Re: Bayou 124gn .357 bullets. Nothing to crimp?

Thanks guys. I only bought 100 of these. I think I'll just skip it and call it a learning experience.

Re: Bayou 124gn .357 bullets. Nothing to crimp?

Hopefully some pictures will help clarify my delima. The bullets are .358. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx78/jbidinger/2017-04-24%2008.45.35_zpsaiy75yvn.jpg When seated like the images above, the OAL is 1.645 which is longer than the max OAL for .357 of 1.590. http:...

Re: Bayou 124gn .357 bullets. Nothing to crimp?

Edit: which caliber are you reloading? Description says that it requires a taper crimp. Could these be intended for 38 Special and not for 357 magnum? I'm reloading for .357 magnum. I saw the part about the taper crimp but there is nothing there to crimp against. I'll try to get some pictures tomor...

Bayou 124gn .357 bullets. Nothing to crimp?

I bought a sample pack on some Bayou 124 grain .357 coated bullets. (http://www.bayoubullets.net/38-357-124-gr-rn-100-ct/) My confusion is that when seated to 1.590 for .357 magnum, the uppermost drive bad is below the case mouth. Is this something to be concerned with? I usually reload with Berry's...

Re: Ruger Mark Pistol "NEW" Firing Pin

Where did you buy the new firing pin? They seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Re: Used market for 10/22?

Some people think the aluminum receivers were better. The new ones are polymer and my opinion are just as good as the metal ones. The 10/22 takedowns are a nice idea if you are using the iron sights which are mounted on the barrel. I wonder about barrel alignment if you use an optic with them since ...

Re: .22LR revolvers - best/worst?

A single six or single 10 is a lot of fun at the range. Especially if you get one that comes with a 22 mag cylinder too.

Re:

Not wanting to make another thread about the same gun. But I felt the need to replace my Glock 19 that I traded last weekend. Put a Smith and Wesson M&P9 fullsize on layaway tonight. Still have all my holsters for the first one I had. Should be good business when I get it out. Sent from my LGLS...
