Re: KABOOM at OGC

I still don't get it. How would knowing details about this incident prevent it from happening with someone else in the future? Shooting be can dangerous, and people can be stupid. Facts of life. I certainly hope this opened the offender's eyes to the dangers of reloading/not understanding his firear...

Re: KABOOM at OGC

What would you do with the information if you were to get a name? There is no personal injury or property damage (other than the rifle) is there? I'm not sure what course of action other than public ridicule could be taken...... And in that case, I would think that losing a firearm would be lesson e...

Re: In vs. Out - How do you carry?

You know, I've been carrying IWB for over five years now and when the holster is off there is an indent in my hip where the gun sits. Likewise. Funny thing is.... I have two indents because I carry my 1911 and my Kahr in slightly different positions. so.... how do you explain the dent i...

Re: Trap with Pistols....... ALL KINDZA FUN!

You fired a weapon capable of shooting single projectile ammo into the air, then posted it on the web. I have nothing to be ashamed of for what I've said about that. Shotguns are capable of firing single projectile ammo. Based on your logic, you would have the same objection if it was one of those ...

Re: Trap with Pistols....... ALL KINDZA FUN!

Not asking pertinent questions before making serious accusations on a public forum is dangerous. You talk mighty high of yourself, but I think you know you were in the wrong here. "What were you shooting?". Is a simple question that could have saved you the backpedaling you're doing now du...

Re: 1911 - OWB - Thumb Break or No Thumb Break?

Unless it's required for your work, skip it. Just one more thing to get in the way in a "need to use" situation where you're already likely to be all thumbs and 50 IQ points less than usual. Here is another question.... do the rest of your holsters have thumb breaks? If not, skip it. One m...

Re: Apprentice Hunter Validation

grousemaster wrote:You should be good to go Strad, just get him the apprentice validation and a tag. Good luck!

I'm just hoping he sees a deer, and gets a shot off at it. That would make my whole season.

Re: Apprentice Hunter Validation

Partially correct. He can purchase a deer tag, but must be accompanied by an adult hunter. Per the DNR regs.... Are you saying I'm not an adult? Yes, he will be with me the whole time in visual and verbal contact. His seat is in my stand, 3 feet away from me. I did read that portion of the DN...

Re: Apprentice Hunter Validation

This seems like a good way for him to be able to sit in the stand with me this year. ... wait a second ... are you saying someone w/o a license ( i.e. minor ) can't sit in the stand?! I was thinkin' of takin' my boy into the woods like we might shoot a deer, if we saw one! :? ... I know oth...

Apprentice Hunter Validation

I have a quick question about the Apprentice Hunter program. According to the DNR website, you purchase an Apprentice Hunter Validation for $3.50 at an ELS vendor, then with that you can purchase a deer tag for the apprentice hunter like usual based on your zone? Is that correct? I've heard that the...

Re: A new way to buy and sell guns

I wanted to give you all a heads up, a friend of mine started a new classified site for buying and selling guns locally. I know he is trying to make something better than what is currently offered by Armslist, GunBroker, etc.; so check it out and leave some feedback here for me to pass on. http:...

Re: Trap with Pistols....... ALL KINDZA FUN!

As Holland&Holland would say, something like "first mistake was posting something like this on the interwebs and not expecting to get flamed!". Mistake? Nah....... Expecting to get flamed? Hell... I was counting on it. Yep. .410 shotshells through a Taurus Judge. Now the game wi...

Re: Trap with Pistols....... ALL KINDZA FUN!

Anyways, I'm not sure how he could identify the cartridges being used by those photos. Cartridges? Definately not. Gun? quite possibly. Either way, he could have asked what we were shooting before spouting off condemnation....... just sayin'. It's fun to see folks get all worked up over false assum...

Re: Trap with Pistols....... ALL KINDZA FUN!

Know your target and what's beyond it ring a bell? Sorry, if you own 1000 acres and have calculated that the rounds will land within your property within a given safety margin - then I'm making a wrong assumption here. If you are going to be on a gun forum, you should learn how to identify a...
