Re: Best 1911 Magazine - Thoughts?

I'm a Wilson guy - 47D for most of my 1911s. Quite happy with them.

Anyone have a good online source price wise for Wilsons?

Re: Vermont is taking an interesting tack...

I really enjoyed Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire when I lived up in New England. I just could not fathom how Massachusetts got so far off track from the rest of the true "New England" states and their approach to personal freedom.

I'm so glad I don't live in Mass anymore.

Re: compact gun question

I have a LCP - it's generally my wear around the house / last resort carry gun. I'm quite fond of it - I have no complaints.

Re: GSG 5L

HK could make this issue alot simplier by making a MP5 domestically. I can assure them that I would buy one - or more ;)

Re: Minimalist 1911?

I own three Kimbers -- Ultra CDP II, SIS Pro, Custom CDP II -- with some tweaking, they are fantastic firearms. Pricey though. My minimalist gun is my Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 -- the only change I've made is narrower grips from vzgrips (I have small hands) - otherwise no changes. It's a great pisto...

Re: Arizona: I Love This State!

Arizona is a great state.

I'm from Indiana originally where experiences like yours are much more common than what we see around Minnesota. Particularly in the small town of 2400 that I grew up in ;)

Re: Carry Pistol Storage?

My approach is similar to Cobb's. Whichever 1911 I'm carrying presently rests in its holster - round chambered, hammer back, safety on.

The rest are unloaded in the safe.

I do rotate mine a bit -- I have a couple 1911s that I carry and tend to switch things around a bit.

Hope this helps -

Re: Nice to see prices actually dropping for a change!

I hope not off topic, but does anyone here frequent J&S in Lakeville? At one time I was looking a a Rock River AR-15 there, not only were their prices what I considered high, but for barrel lengths of 16" to 20", their prices went up per inch of barrel length, even though suggested re...

Re: Minimalist 1911?

I've a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec (Parkerized) that I picked up a few months ago - I really like this pistol. Very basic - shoots like a dream. If this is a GI Model, then you may want to look at the larger beavertail and the hammer change. A simple trigger job would likely help as well. But it's a...
