Re: 2012 deer camp success thread

As woods again was good to our group. I had about 10-15 deer crept past before shooting hours, passed on another 15-20 before 8, lots of does, fawns and small bucks. At about 8:20 another wave rolled in, some larger does in this group, I could only hunt Sat so no time to be picky. A few bucks were b...

I am 99% sure bills only allows brass cased ammo, so TulAmmo would be out of the question for OP.

Steel yes, Aluminum No, at least that was the case the last time I shot there, but that was 4-5 years ago

Shooter had a carry permit, great, now the simple minds will judge all by the bad apple.

Re: Ammunition Concentricity Tool

I would never put much faith in it, check it with a good gage like the Sinclair, if its off its going to be off until fired again, there is no good way to fix an F-ed up round.

Re: BLACKHAWK! Scopes

Weaver can make some nice glass when they want to, I picked up a few of the 2.5-10X - 30mm tube Weaver extremes when Natchez was clearning them out, side focus, 50 and 56 mm lens, IR, msrp of $950+, got them for $260, one of the best deals I’ve ever gotten. Any idea what sizes they will have? Thanks...

Oh My DEER god, I have had this master plan to build a 6.8 Deer slaying pistol for years… and now you have gone and done it…. so jealous….. closet thing to shouldering a center fire rifle in a shotgun zone as you can get

Re: Bryan Guiding, Parmelee SD Prairie Dog Hunts

Looks like a great time! I'm jelly. I would agree, if you are on a short trip and don’t have prior connections doing a guide is the way to go, also good choice in accommodations, most of my buddies that are hardcore PD hunters go in that area and always stay at the casino as most of the other option...

Re: 3-D printer made firearms!

Meh, he didn’t make the entire thing, just the lower, no really milestone there, plastic lowers have been around forever. As for home use, good luck, it would be cheaper to buy an older CNC and make a real part, 3D printers are spendy. Our small one was 45K and we just got a quote for a larger unit ...

Re: Rifle Rests, bags, ect

When used properly, you will give up no accuracy vs. a bipod or rest Nothing? I call BS on that, sure you can print very respectable groups with a sling but you guys are also using jackets and to call match sights “open sights” is just a bit of a misrepresentation. There is a reason your X and 10 r...

Re: Carbon Fiber

I have had a Volquarsten Carbon THM 17M2 bbl on one of my 10/22's for 7 years now, its POI does not change, its one of the nicest shooters I have. I wouldn't judge anything based on the Magnum Research Rimfires, they were a junk design, my buddy had one, there is a reason they offered to buy them ba...
