Re: Another School Shooting

I think these things are becoming more common because the lust to be "famous" has pervaded the American psyche, so for those without consciences it has become more of a motivator in how they act out.

Re: I got a new toy!!!

I like the Paras a lot. My P18 and P45 both had The Hogue Fingergroove grips. While I'm fine with the ergonomics of large frame doublestacks, for competition purposes the fingergrooves really helped improve consistency in presentation since the broad beam front strap on the Paras doesn't give me muc...

Re: New Photo of George Zimmerman released

In the larger social sense, I don't think it's a bad thing if people are forced to recognize that initiating violent actions often risks your own safety. How does adding an "unwilling participant" clause to stand your ground change that? I mean, I agree with everything you said, but I don...

Re: New Photo of George Zimmerman released

My whole problem is with stand your ground as currently being discussed. I want an unwilling participant clause in it, instead of relying on previous court rulings implying that it exists. Now the state has to charge him despite his actions not violating the letter of the law. This is bad. I also t...

Re: New Photo of George Zimmerman released

And regardless, it sounds like the process is going perfectly then. Zimmerman gets to show his innocence in front of a jury. Or more accurately, the state has to prove his guilt to a jury. So what's the griping about then? IMO the prosecution is in no hurry to try this case because they are pretty ...

Re: New Photo of George Zimmerman released

People have never been held criminally responsible for poor decisions unless it was a crime. Not in the US anyway when the system is working properly. Perhaps you'd prefer the legal system in S Korea, Iran, or Cuba where actions can be determined to be illegal after the fact, by an all knowing and ...

Re: 2 teens killed after allegedly breaking into home;

Also, how is the implication that one " must " cease hostilities once " safe enough ", not " duty to retreat "?! IMO "Duty to retreat" is very different from using vastly more force than necessary to insure your safety, or continuing the assault when you are ...

Re: What do we need to fear with the new MN Legislature

Religion, just like many other things in life, are highly subjective and we each should have the opportunity to believe as they wish. The re-writing of history and the removal of religion from a society steeped in religious traditions and founded on religious ideals is quite another thing. Is it? S...

Re: What do we need to fear with the new MN Legislature

The move to extreme secularism is an assault on organized religion. If anything I would call it pushback. Organized religion not only thinks it's ok, but feels it's their duty to push their beliefs on those who would prefer to be left alone, but get their panties in a bunch when or if other organiz...

Re: Israeli cease fire

So many words used to reply to me. None to him. Such a fine community of upstanding citizens we are. So proud of us right now. Qui Tacit Consentire. You should feel flattered, it means we think you can be helped. :D In reality though, what do you expect when you call us out for ignoring a bigoted c...

Re: Israeli cease fire

And yet you don't attack his arguments at all. Qui Tacit Consentire. Roger that. Perhaps. I'm generally not one to argue peoples beliefs, no matter what I think about them personally, as all it accomplishes is frustration. So I generally ignore such things. Those of you who like that sort of thing ...

Re: Israeli cease fire

The gun community already has a problem with its image as a bastion for racists & bigots. We need to police our own. That means whenever someone on this forum does something to harm the community, we pile on them until they either go away or apologize for their comments and keep their bigoted t...
