Re: Gun Broker - Crazy Seller

Did you do a search on GB to see what other copies of the same gun sold for*? If the seller's price is high, wait for a more realistic seller. If your desired purchase price is too low, wait for a lower listing or reset your expected purchase price. Just like most auction sites, there are VERY few g...

Re: GANDER OUTDOORS

I'm torn, I have a nephew working there and I want him to succeed. However, without competitive prices there is no need to go out of my way.

Re: Best polishing areas for 1911?

Since you mention Bullseye.... You may find some good info on what to do with your RO at the bullseye forum, like this one http://www.bullseyeforum.net/t2551-springfield-ro-230-fmj-accuracy

41 Mag JHP Magnus bullets FT/FF - deal pending

Deal Pending I got these in a bulk buy of .45 bullets and have no use for them, probably around 100-150 with some slight tarnishing. I don't want to recycle them if someone can use them for their reloading. Free or trade for anything I can use with .45ACP Large Primer reloading. I am in IGH during d...

Re: Best polishing areas for 1911?

Even high end guns have limits on how much time the maker can invest in smoothing all surfaces. 1) slide - dismantle entire gun, find out where slide grabs and put Flitz there and then cycle by hand multiple times until smooth enough to slide off when you tip the gun. Clean off all Flitz 2) trigger ...

Re: 41 Mag Plated Bullets

My x-treme plated bullets came with instructions to load between lead and jacketed data. I am using Bullseye with them and it seems fine for 25 yd accuracy.

Re: Larger bore Wheelgun

Thanks. I'll look around a bit. Any advice on a noob to reloading book that I could pick up and check out? To date, I've mostly been shooting basic pistol calibers (.45, .40, .38, 9mm, 380, and .22) and have been buying off the shelf ammo. But do agree based on the cost and availability of some of ...

WTB APS primers or strips

Has anyone got some surplus CCI large pistol APS primer strips at the bottom of their reserves?
I might also be interested in empty LP APS strips.

Thanks, Ian

Re: What's used reloading gear worth?

Wife said, "Either that reloader or I go!" I'm going to miss the sweet repeditive sound of her snoring. I see them go on ebay with local pick up only. You can look on ebay and click on the box (on the left) to see what they have sold for recently. I think many prices on ebay are very whack...

Re: S&W Shield 9mm $250 shipped

VMAX97 wrote: (why fax??)

I recently ran into this with a medical report. Fax is point to point and emailing a scan is sending your serial number through many servers. S&W may worry that others will scam them based off stealing the image from your email.

Just a theory...

Re: Sizing on projectiles?

For best accuracy, some competitors slug their barrel and then go .001 over with bullet size. Not all barrels are the same internal diameter. In my limited experience, softer bullets can also not obturate because of being sized down by insufficient case diameter (from the expander die). Remember, le...

Re: deprime or not to deprime?

Originally, I loaded dirty brass too. But the reason I clean pistol brass now is my medium-high blood lead levels. Running them through the ultrasonic keeps the primer dust from either being absorbed or breathed. I use an N100 mask when depriming.

Re: deprime or not to deprime?

Mine is evolving. Probably not necessary for those with progressive presses. For straightwall cases;
1) spray with case lube
2) size and deprime
3) bell
4) ultrasonic clean with RCBS citric solution
5) dry
6-?) prime and load
