Re: Looking for some one to do some welding for me

Well - How do I delete this post - now that there are legal stipulations on this.... What a bunch of bunk So much for this Did you actually consult a lawyer? Or just take the word of some guy on the interwebz spouting off legal advice? My thoughts? Even with a harness you wouldn't get me in a tree ...

Re: DIY Camo Dip

It's the exact same film that the professional dip places use. This is directly from a guy that does dipping commercially for a bunch of bow manufacturers. Like anything it's all about the prep work. i understand, but how well does it hold up? is it at all corrosion resistand, or is it purely asthe...

Re: Savage Axis in .243

Just as an aside on this, the Hornady loads are often less expensive than the Federal and while I love my local federal company those hornady loads do perform expecially considering the price. Not to sidetrack.... what was it you used last year that sent that buck ass over teakettle? Talk about an ...

Re: Savage Axis in .243

I know I may be in the minority, but when using a fast light bullet for big game I would recommend a bonded bullet. At high speeds a bullet can come apart on impact when hitting a short range target. It might be traumatic for the youngster to have his first deer suffer/never be found. For all the e...

Re: Savage Axis in .243

Good to know... Thanks! Looking for some factory 100gr loads right now.. I think Federal makes a vital shok in that weight, I will post back when I get my hands on some. The ammo I shot yesterday was Federal 80gr game shok, and although that is plenty enough to take a deer, I think that 100gr would ...

Re: Savage Axis in .243

As to your POI change on zoom. Your reticle is not centered to the erector. Pretty common on low end scopes. Usually on sub $100 glass, the spec is going to be about 2moa of shift on zoom. Good to know. 2moa shift? Jeez... borderline unusable. :? Explains quite a bit though. At this point, I plan o...

Savage Axis in .243

Well, the search for a hunting rifle for my kiddo ended today. I went to Fleet Farm and Picked up a Savage Axis bundle for under $300. Here are my initial impressions from one range trip...... Fit and finish look pretty good for a cheap rifle with plastic furniture. The stock is solid, and has decen...

Re: Anyone know where to get a Kimber?

Are they fair with buying a used gun? As fair as most other retail operations. At most retail stores, for the most part, you can expect to get on average 40% of what they can expect to sell it for cash, and 50% - 60% in trade. Give or take a bit depending on a whole host of circumstances of course....
