I have a G19 with an RMR milled into the slide, you are welcome to try it out some time. Using it has really improved my trigger control, because I can see even the most minor movement. Mn hunted a slug zone so used the T/C Encore 7mm08 and took a basket 8.

I would leave it alone, some manufacturers design the stock channel to put predictable upward pressure on the barrel, my 7mm rem mag is like this and shoots better not free floated. Shoot the gun and see what it is capable of as-is before messing with it IMHO. What he said, See what it shoots like ...

I have seen the dovetailed rail but it adds height the sight.

Tried a CT equipped gun and found the dancing dot distracting, Maybe a RMR is as bad which is why I am hesitant to lay out the bucks just to try it out.

The $700-800 prices was to include shipping the slide out to have it Milled, I think that Bowie Tactical and one other offers these services that I know of.

With my ageing eyes I am considering putting a RMR on a 9C for carry. Having never tried this type of set up I am hesitant to spend the money without knowing what to really expect, Between the optics and sending the slide out to have it milled I would be looking at $700-800. I prefer the feel of the mag with the pinky rest on it over the flat floorplate, And if wanted for a extra mag you can use a 17rd.

The grip screws don't line up quite so well on the double diamond grips.
