Re: Suggest a pistol to try

Well, the recent testing showed that the gun she liked most so far was the service-size XD9. We tried a PA-63-class Waltherclone, but she hated the trigger. The XD trigger was much more to her liking. Also, the wide double-stack grip makes recoil feel better to her. We'll see where this goes from h...

Re: Ouch! Is Shooting My New Carbine Supposed to Hurt?

The cx4 in .45 acp also beats up the cheek quite a bit.... I don't think what you are seeing is abnormal.

Re: Ruger LCP - "I like it!"

Thanks Bessy, well I won't hijack the thread but the debate always was 9vs.40vs 45 with 9mm always the controversy as to light. .380 never entered the equation. But, guess wer'e not talking primary carry. Incidently, Cabelas had several boxes of .380 Blazer this AM. some 40SW as well (I think WWB )...

Re: Suggest a pistol to try

As lame as it sounds.. I actually carried a pa-63 for a number of months. I found it easy to conceal. You can help reduce recoil and the harsh trigger pull by swapping out some springs. At the time they were relatively cheap and available, and they fit in most ppk holsters. I still think you can get...

Re: What'll it take to mount a scope on an AR-15?

I cheaper alternative to the larue would be a mount made by American defense. They are rock solid mounts. http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/?page=shop/browse&category=opticmounts_scopemounts They sell them at Brownels the price is usually 30-40 dollars cheaper than larue. Don't get me ...

Re: Barking for the first time

I've been shooting a sig 1911 gsr in my uspsa competitions since I started about 3 years ago. I've done some work on it. Had around 9000 rounds in it before my first issue. The external extractor broke, ordered a new one from egw, dropped right in no problems. Great guns (barring the first couple th...

Re: Load Data

Pinnacle, I'm absolutely not oppossed to the idea of hands on guidence if that's what you're offering. I'll PM you. I forgot one rule #7 Never meet with strangers you meet online for the purposes of a "reloading tutorial". Several rapists have been using this one. I saw it on to catch a p...

Re: What To Look For When Buying Used Handguns?

I wouldn't put to much stock your basics instructor warning, nor would I ever tell my students something like this. It's not place to impart my irrational prejudices on them, of which I have many (all gun related I assure you). It's pretty easy to tell if a gun has been abused if you know what to lo...

Re: Load Data

Thanks Bessy..you answered everything! I do appreciate it, great advice, ...except the first one, it's been made clear mag primers are not a good idea (especially for someone new at this). Apparently you didn't pay any attention to "rule" 6. Doest that mean people should or shouldn't list...
